Thought id come back to the forum again, after a bit of negativity putting me off last time. Razz

As some of you know i own jokers old gti6, which is undergoing a bit of a transformation. Its being turned into a track car but i'm a bit ocd so its getting stripped and rebuilt. At the minute the engine is now out of the car and having the following-

clutch
plugs
gearbox oil
engine oil
all filters
new supercharger fluid
cambelt

While the engine is out iv had all the engine bay repainted, including the underside of the bonnet. The slam panel has been stripped back and powdercoated gloss black. Iv also powdercoated all the engine brackets and have all new stainless nuts and bolts to replace the rusty old ones. Rockercovers have been powdercoated grey to match the exterior of the car.

The gearbox is being stripped and repainted in silver, and all associated brackets powdercoated gloss black again with all new bolts. The pipework is alloy and cut and welded which looks poor so this is being redone in mandrel bent stainless.

Hopefully the engine will be going back in soon and i can then move onto the interior. Currently stripped out but wants caging and painting.

Will start gathering some pics to update the thread and hopefully will start to get involved in the forum a bit more.

Graham

Sounds like a good list of jobs that will tidy up a nice car. What are your plans for oil cooling or is that taken care of?

I will start a project thread in the relevant area once i have some recent pics, most know what it looks like exterior wise and still does! Really needs an oil cooler on it to be honest, will be taken care of before the front end goes back on
