That was for the planning applications, drawings and council charges along the way, the council come out at various intervals of the build to keep a sneaky eye on you.

Getting excited today as when i get home i should have floors in the new rooms and best of all a big roller shutter, yaySmile

Little more has happened the non stop rain has slowed things down a little, I have now got a very posh roller shutter door that I am proud of though, went for composite side door and front house door so basically a upvc style but in old traditional colour (went for red), due to this it was a wait of ten daysSad

Also the drains have been dug out and the pipe work all fitted, quite self explanatory, a set of drains will be positioned just in front of the roller door.

Had the plumber down this evening to get all the heating in the garage, gone for four radiators positioned on the two largest walls, a cold tap for my pressure washer and basically he will be doing the utility, so a bog and a sink.
Electrician has also been round and I gave him a two page list (a4) that should keep him busy, even toying with the idea of cctvDunno

Painter is starting on Monday to colour the render and hopefully things will crack on.

Carl

Looking good Carl, have you considered plumbing a water softener into the pressure washer tap? No nasty watermarks left on cars after cleaning Yes

I usually charge £400-600 for a garage extension depending on the size of the house etc

Then £150 for building regs and £150 for planning fee's

So not to bad a price i supose, it could have been designed a little better imo, but im not sure how much imput you had on the design of it.

Plus I've just worked out how to open and close my garage door from anywhere in the world using the powers of the internet! All for the grand cost of 80 quid so if you need any tips I can point you in the right direction.

Do you travel? Not that I want to open the door via the Internet but like you say it is cool.

Screwfix sell a cctv kit which you can view over the Internet on a smartphone. There's an app that allows you to pan, zoom etc all from a computer or your mobile the other side of the world. It's well priced also.

Hmm, seems I may be wanting something like this, some bugger tried to break into the shed the other day, I swear it doesn't matter where you live, just moved from a council estate to a plusher area and the buggers are here too.

Better things to steal on a better estate usually LOL

    A 2 camera kit is 350 and a 4 camera kit 400.

Brilliant value as a deterrent and piece of mind when away from home. Soon see if any unknown vehicles visit the house that you're not aware of LOL

How much is a gun and a cabinet? Just had a quote for the cctv system, with three standard cameras and a beast of one which the chap said and i quote "you could some in on a camel toe 300 yards away"LOL comes in at £1000 with the full kit ie the 4 cameras, a monitor, hard drive, and a piece of kit that can alert your mobile.

    May see on this.

That's the best description of a camera I think I've ever heard.

£1k for a 4-camera kit sounds not too bad, tbh I'd steer clear of anything cheaper. Cheap cameras are even more annoying than no cameras, because you'll have footage of their car and face, but won't be able to make out either. They also won't work in low light - night mode is fine, day mode is fine, but evenings are normally pretty poor recordings.
