Stopped at traffic lights today and the car cut out. And now it won't start, turns over but won't start. Can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key so I've ruled that out.

Popped open the bonnet to check injectors etc and all looks good but I came across quite a few un connected plugs. Now I know the Rallye has a few extra ones that are un used but I've found a total of 4 that are unplugged. Pics below

This one was lurking under the ICV

The brown one here is the outside temp I think? Which I don't have

Don't know if any of these could be causing my problem but could be a shout

Incidently, all of those plugs you've pictured are not used on a Rallye. No

It's worth a check though, only got to loosen the top cover and peer inside, make sure the belt still looks ok and it has tension...

It could be something as silly as a crank sensor. Yes

I'd go with crank sensor but also echo Stan's suggestion of checking the cambelt is all okay.

Just had a look at the cambelt. All looks ok, plenty of tension there too.

I've had some with damage like that which have been fine yet it could have been like that for a while and suddenly become iffy.

It really is a process of illimination. It's a good place to start.
