Don't worry it won't affect you, it's to stop people who *anonymously* abuse people Wink

There's no law against being a c**t, just against pretending not to be. And you've certainly never pretended that LOL

It's all come about after some woman won a case the other day where Facebook are to be forced to release the details of some users who started abusing her. The thing people need to remember is that there'll always be people you disagree with and who disagree with you, and there will be people you don't like.

The world would be a very boring place if everyone agreed with each other Yes

However I do completely agree with the law, people shouldn't be able to hide behind the internet and affect peoples lives, but to be honest I've never seen anyone on here actually do that; there have been minor trolls come and go, but RR certainly hasn't ever tried to hide his identity, and neither have I. People often forget that small but significant difference.

I work as a childminding assistant and today one of the children who come to us for 'afterschool club' handed me a letter and asked me to read it to her. It was a letter from the schools headmistress asking parents NOT to post malicious comments about teachers & school staff on social networking sites such as 'facebook' and that anything seen on there in the future (they will be looking apparently) will be passed on to the police.

It is wrong and especially the comment above, surely if there is a problem with a member of staff parents should be more 'grown up' about it and contact the school directly?! I hope the parent/s who have been posting stuff feel really embarrassed tonight when they read the letter.

Absolutely, part of the problem nowadays is it's just so absolutely easy to just start ripping into people on the internet without anyone knowing who you are, that people seem to think it's okay, and as if the law doesn't apply because it's not face-to-face.

Hopefully what with that guy thrown in prison for the racist tweets about Muamba and this case with Facebook people will start realising you can't do it, and it's not okay just because you're behind a computer. I really dread to see how this generation of kids turn out, as the internet has inarguably changed the way we do things, and this is the only generation of kids who'll really grow up with parents who don't really understand it.

A friend of mine is a primary teacher and found one of the kids at her school has Facebook, and he's SEVEN. The parents are the kind of people who are probably fine with it as they don't really understand it, let alone the fact it's illegal until they're 13. Privacy settings left on defaults, free for people to see what he's up to.

Would not be having that with my kids.

Sarah, most parents aren't too much older than their children these days haha!

It's because if they actually had to make a formal complaint, they wouldn't have a clue. Whereas, getting your gayPhone out and slagging someone off in txt spk is too easy

Personally, I want troll Nicola Brookes. I caught a clip of her on TV crying on about this s**t.

Serves her right for trying to be a saint

Fair point that LOL

A good one though, and it's not even just the age. The other day I was sat at a red light on a big crossing in town, over six lanes of traffic. Fair enough it was green man time, but this woman crossed the road with her four kids literally running ahead of her, while she was head down texting on her phone. When I was a kid (bearing in mind they were primary school age) crossing roads was all about stopping, looking and concentrating; what example does it set to your kids when your mum lets you run across big roads whilst on the phone?!

I personally think the same should go for this "claim-culture" as people call it. If there was a rule that just said right, you think you have a claim, that's fine. However in order to put in a claim, it *has* to go to court, and you have to attend. I bet 95% of people wouldn't bother claiming if they had to go through the months of paperwork and a court appearance, but the ones with genuine cases would do, and would win.

As Dave said, it's all too easy to complain Yes

Well said mate. I bet it wouldn't be the hassle of the paper work that would put people off though, it'd be the fear of standing in court and lying.

Having to repeat all of the spinal issues, walking issues, flash backs and fear of driving after the ~2mph car park "shunt" would probably weigh too heavily on those just after the quick, easy money

Well that's exactly it, it's one thing when your insurance company says "just give us the word, we'll seek compensation and you won't have to do anything", but if someone said "look, it won't cost you anything but you will have to stand up in court, describe your injuries and have a medical assessment", 95% people would run a mile, and rightfully so.

That's genuinely the only way I could think of doing it. I bet if you implemented that car insurance would pretty much halve overnight.

I bet you'd be right mate!

My mother is pursuing compensation after a car crash where some c**t hit her head on at 80mph, whilst overtaking a bus... around around a blind bend.

So she'll never walk properly again and will never walk any sort of distance. She's had life changing surgery due to the internal injuries sustained and she's deaf in one ear. On top of that, she'll never be able to do her job again and as such, the NHS have made her "redundant".

I obviously believe my mam is entitled to s**t loads, loss of earnings will be huge!

So it REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY f**kS ME OFF when people claim to have whiplash because someone tapped them whilst parking a car or for whatever pointless reason, claim for such insignificant s**t.

Because, as you've said, they don't have to do ANYTHING other than sit on their arse and wait for a cheque.

I also believe it changes some members of the medical profession. After my Aston Martin crash, I went to minor injuries to see someone as my back was sore. (It still kills me to this day).

The look I got when I followed my issue with "I was in a car crash" TOTALLY changed the way the doctor looked at me.

I could almost see his thoughts, "hmm, no external injuries, bad back, car crash... he just wants me to write it in the medical records that he has a bad back due to a crash"

Not always the way though...long story which i wont go into but my sisters car was totalled over 18 months ago and she still hasnt seen a penny for it due to a silly lady who wont admit liability after suffering a fit while driving Wink pretty dangerous and not a nice experience for anybody involved.

India (my sister) would honestly just like to be paid out for her car which was a s**tty 1 litre corsa but she had to borrow money to replace it through no fault of her own. The whole case is going to court in the west midlands somewhere when all parties involved were local to west wales, all seems a bit strange really but she's not giving in.

Perhaps trolls should have their alter ego listed under their username.

Am I the only one that initially thought Rolling Roads were being banned?

I just thought it was because they're unnecessary.

Everyone knows a huge big exhaust adds 10bhp, filters 10bhp, dizzy converter adds 50.

So now people just guess and add 20bhp....
