On long drives, they pretty good due to the 6th gear in the box, guess it was alot of motorway or top gear driving.________________________________________ Life is short, make it interestingBuy a Peugeot! |

I can achieve about 380 miles to a tankful driving as you describe, so it's about right. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I regularly get around 400 miles to a tank. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on how i drive. I never sat down to work out my mpg from brim to empty but if i ran it to empty everytime i would prob get another 30-40miles ontop of what i have loosely worked out already. Seeings as i drive betwee 600-1000 miles a week i know how clean she runs and what i will roughly get to a tank They really arent bad as long as your engine is in good nick with regular oil changes ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' 43.2 litres (just under 10 gallon) or £60 of super unleaded, gets me an average of 330 miles. Before fitting the scorpion, used to get about 380 miles to the £60 ________________________________________ FRESHLY RE-FURBISHED GTI BEAMSFITTING AND LOWERING AVAILABLE. f**k me! I'm lucky to see 300 miles on this Rallye. My last would easily get 330/350 to my tank, but this is 260 and I'm looking for a stationI think there's something wrong with it ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

I pretty regularly get 400 to a tank, but it’s about 90% motorway driving. It drops noticeably if I’m driving round town! or doing a few short journeys over a weekend. ________________________________________ Darkstar |

My driving is mostly b-roads up the moors, but as my gf is usually in the car, its not always wide open (throttle). Work is only a mile or so away and I cycle there most days. I've had this rallye a few month now ans it didn't have a lambda sensor, so I've plugged a spare sensor in now. I'll check the cts too ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

You can always take the spark plugs out and have a look at the colour of them. This will tell you a lot about what the engine is doing fuelling wise. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Yeah, too be honest they looked fine. Maybe looked as if the engine was running too hot though, may be indicative of cooling issues or advanced ignition timing? I replaced them with some genuine plugs at the first service a few days after I got it. I've got a spare sensor to try, but does the ECU need to be unplugged for the lambda / sensor changes to be recognised? ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

It is better if you disconnect the battery for 20 minutes whilst you fit the new sensors, that way once the battery is reconnected and the engine is run the ECU can relearn. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Okay, I'll disconnect the battery, swap the sensor and change my headlights (without smashing the clips?) ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

Your general driving on B roads could explain your less miles to a tank to a certain degree. They do drop a fair bit in MPG when not doing long runs. When i changed my spark plugs recently 3 of them looked nice and brown/fine and one looked slightly whiter, less sooty. Maybe running slightly lean on one of my cylinders but i guess thats not something i can change/be worried about. ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' I agree that B-roads will drink petrol more readily, but my previous Rallye would deliver 300 - 350 without much trouble, same driving style and roads ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

honestly3k wrote: Ps does anyone know roughly how many miles/litres you get left when the red light comes on? About 60 miles on red light IIRC. But best not to 400 miles is as said, about right for these cars, but reading some people's posts above some see 300 miles, I guess it all depends on how well serviced the car is and how economical you drive. I was impressed when I went pugfest on petrol last year. Got no word of a lie, from Ipswich, full tank, to Cheltenham (178 miles), around the area for the evening to get some food etc. Then back to Ipswich. Total miles was 410 I think and it was well into red light. Now that was my personal best, but not only that, it was driving 2 or 3 times racing up Prescott Hill, and driving 80-90 most of the way there keeping up with our convoy! And part of the way back a lot of hard foot driving, until I left them to it. On that, I believe if I drove motorway miles, the very best could potentially be around 500 miles on my 6. No balls**t as I know some wont believe it but the above is fact, so take pugfest and fast driving out of that equation and it'll be close to 500 miles I'm sure. Now I'm on LPG I hope to have this years pugfest on one tank of LPG. Thats another £40 saved compared to petrol ________________________________________ JAMMA "M44YHW" MAYHEWLOSE WEIGHT NOW - ASK ME HOW - NUTRI-FIX GTi6 LPG, The best of both worlds! 2006: 1997 R reg 306 1.4 Miami - Diablo Red - DEAD 2007: 1999 V reg 306 1.4 Meridian - Diablo Red - SOLD 2007-09: 1998 S reg 306 GTi6 - Diablo Red - DEAD 2009-10: 1998 R reg Corsa 1.2 - Blue - SOLD 2010-13: 2001 Y reg 306 GTi6 LPG - Diablo Red - DEAD 2013 - 2013: 2000 X reg GTi6 LPG - Moonstone Blue - DEAD 2013 - current: 2001 X reg GTi6 LPG - Diablo Red ]FOR SALE[/b] "I LIVE FOR THE 306" |

Going to pugfest last year I was up to 430 miles and the red light wasn't even close to being on, nearly all motorway miles though.________________________________________ '90 1.6 205 GTi, '98 306 GTi-6 |
