Personally I think a new section should be added to the forum now to accommodate this and future alternative fuel conversions.
I can already see jimmy hackers name all the way down the list of authors in the new section.

Had a bit of a glitch with a part that the company fitted incorrectly. They went bust and recently had it sorted (long story short).

But I have now been driving on gas for a few months to have built up history and I'm now able to give a better comparison.

Again long story short:

Negatives:
Costs over £1k for a decent conversion

Postives:
Only 12p per mile now, instead of 21p per mile like I was on petrol. This is worked out on a weekly fill of £30 LPG and £5 petrol.
Smoother idle and quieter engine (when driving, otherwise if bonnet is up its slightly more clicky)
Get a small car tax rebate (£10 - £20 a year).
Sorted out my stalling problem but only when on gas. Still stalls now and then (not very often) when on petrol if I let it).
Average MPG is 29mpg on combined fuel. Only 1mpg average less than petrol Smile

You missed off a negative, surely now not being able to open the car with your remote key fob and having to put the key in is one? Big grin

I've had an LPG car now, albeit for a few days. Have a lot of time for it, but it was noticeably slower on the gas rather than SUL. Shame it had a dodgy MOT and rotten sills or I would have kept it.

Only way on earth I could afford a 4.4 V8 Laugh my ass off

Well I should have thought so but I'm not really happy with my Focus fuel consumption lucky to get 300miles before fuel light usually I get about 275 before fuel light... admitedly it is a 55ltr tank so it is better than 310miles(before fuel light) to a 60ltr tank in the '6 but I could justify slightly worse fuel economy just to get rid of the rusty oval and get another Pug! Been driving over Devizes a lot lately (A361) and it used to be an awesome little (10mile) drive in the '6 to my local/choice Peugeot Garage... The focus handles well just doesn't have the power to get by people as easily as the '6 did LOL

If I brim my tanks I get about 700 miles!! Thats a good feeling, 400miles on petrol and 300 on gas. On another thread most were getting 350miles approx so you're telling me the focus is less economical than a 6!!

Looks an expensive outright conversion. I can see why its been done but time well tell how reliable it is. After all, these are still only French cars Whistle

I can get that from my cronky old 8 valve 205 and it has a smaller tank...

Focus has a small tank btw, and less power.

But if I had two tanks I'd get 700 miles.. Your logic is flawed. Thumbs down

The way to calculate it is how much it costs for your 700 miles not that you get 700 miles. Then you would win that round of top trumps. Thumbs up

I guess you're right. But I never have full tank of petrol now so just giving example.

For a GTi6 on petrol to do approx 1000 miles it'll cost about £200. For me to do 1000 miles it'll cost me about £120. How's that sound?Cool
