Why you no live for 306 EHH!??
I've owned 306's since 1999... I would say I live for the 306. LOL
Mine gets a fair amount of abuse but just not on work runs and that. There simply is no point imo.Smile

I didnt fill her up after i only put like £30 back in.

But i generally only fill her up when the red light is on and she normally takes around 48-52 litres. I guess i have a few litres left in her yet but i dont run around with a jerry can in the boot so id rather not run it to empty Dunno

do about 250 to work and back every week and about a further 30 during the week and every single time i'm getting 280-310 miles to a tank. What's that in mpg? never bothered working it out

just done 320 miles in the v6 coupe and that was £77 to fill it

without filling back up you never know how much is left so going by the light is a bit pointless, as you've said it can vary up to a gallon which would affect that MPG figure, 394m to 48 litres is about 36.9 mpg, 394m to 52L is 34.2

Kev, I have no reason to add to mpg figures, maybe youre just a s**t driver? LOL

I regularly get 34 from my 8 valve 205 with a cam, its still on winter tyres at the moment and I don't sit on the motorway at 56 all the time, more like 75-80 and plenty of roundabouts and slip roads on my way to and from work.

The same driving from my Cammed ZX gave around 34.

As I've stated before I can get 380 miles from a full tank running over 450bhp...

I can drive it swiftly and record this fuel consumption. Obviously, if I redline every gear then the car will drink it much faster, however it is possible to drive these cars at good pace and still record decent MPG.

That really is impressive. I get anywhere between 320-360 on my LB SC-6.

Why is it so hard to understand the figures?

If only one person was going on about good MPG and everybody else disagreed then it's probably likely that they are not getting that MPG in reality.

However, if the majority are backing up the claims that good MPG is being recorded on a daily basis, then perhaps it's your car/driving style that needs adjusting? Dunno

simple maths;

42 litres, divide with 4.54 (litres per UK gallon) is 9.25 gallons.

320 miles divided with 9.25 gallons is 34.594 mpg.

Hell, I've had 39 out of this beast on a long A-road and motorway run!

Using this I will give you the exact figure...

55 litres, divide with 4.554 (just to be picky Razz) is 12.1 imperial gallons.

380 miles divided with 12.1 gallons is 31.4mpg. Yes

Hang on, forget about 'real world figures', let's stick to physics and mathematics. They can be trusted to be correct.

If a volume of a liquid (X) is consumed over a measured distance (Y), then the MPG is worked out using maths: not how much £ you put in first, or when the red light comes on.

It's not negotiable and it's not based on opinion. Whether anyone likes it or not, the maths do not lie.

Therefore, providing the primary school level of mathematics were carried out correctly, the figures are right for these cars in this thread.

The conversion factor is 4.546 (4 SF).

X / 4.546 = UK Gallons
Y / UK Gallons = MPG

Fairdos to you if you get 31 mpg out of your SC carThumbs up but the SC conversion is wasted on you really, you might aswell drive a HDI for the amount of throttle you must be usingYes

I'm happy with my MPG,I'm not moaning,so why would I want to adjust my driving?Thumbs up

To be fair, you've probably got a point there. I don't really need to use the full range of the throttle to get where I need to be going, except in the odd circumstance. Yes

As for why have a car that you love to drive and not drive it, that's another good point. LOL

Not sure why I took it off the road really, I guess I just fancied a change of scene for a while...Smile
