Time does go more quickly the older you get, especially when you have kids. My eldest will be 13 this July, doesnt seem like 5 minutes since he was born 7 weeks early and weighed 3lb 2oz.

It makes you realise fast time goes, epecially if you want to achieve stuff in life, personal goals etc etc.

Well, in the last 4 years I have got engaged, got married, bought a house and had a son. Yes

As well as that I've managed to make 4 successful trips to Monaco and back in the '6', bought a great motorbike and generally done pretty much everything I've ever wanted to do, so I feel pretty happy with the last 4 years. Yes

You are right though Simon, the days and weeks do seem to fly by. I remember Christmas Day like it was last week and it was over 4 months ago!

Before we know it the clocks will be going back again and Christmas will be on top of us once again...

In general the last 4 years have been pretty good but over the last 2 years my place of work has been up s**t creek and been looking like its shutting which has caused high stress levels. I know a lot of folks are in the same position so il say out of the last 4 years, 2 of them can go f**k themselves. Thumbs up

Time flies ... yes it does!

Just a guess but I think time is 'relative' to life lived.

6 months for a 1 year old represents 50% of life.
6 months for a 2 year old represents 25% of life.
6 months for a 5 year old represents 10% of life.
6 months for a 25 year old represents 2% of life.
6 months for a 50 year old represents 1% of life.

As we get older time is 'relatively' faster.

This explains why kids get bored 'relatively' quickly. One minute to an adult is like 10 minutes to a 5 year old. A near death experience could be like reseting the trip clock. This would make the time after a close shave seem more significant time wise. After 5 years relative time is diminishing.

Most people would think of 40 or so as half a life but in looking at time 'relatively' (relative time chunks). It is 70% over ... omfg

I think this is skewed by periods of time we can't remember ie events for the first 3 years of life. Which would make the relative half way point ... more than 20 years old!

Its not all bad news ... just like kids who can't remember the first few years skews things ... waking up and not remembering the night/day/week/year before would also count .... that makes me at least 50% younger ... beer please!

Interesting thread really. I'd seen your car and knew you were lucky to walk away from that.

My life has completely changed in 4 years!

4 Years ago I was celebrating the last birthday with my then girlfriend - she was literally about to walk away. We had been together a while, scraping the pennies together as we'd just bought a house, then out the blue she f**ked off with a millionaire (but it wasn't about the money!!), left me high and dry with the debt of putting her through uni and keeping a rented roof. Barely had enough money to pay the bills and eat in a given month.

Since then though i've changed jobs, been to several awesome countries with work (spent 1.5 years overseas), turned over a five figure debt (mostly house purchase to be fair), bought a TVR, bought a Rallye and charged it, undertook my second degree and have been with my South African girlfriend a almost a year already, paying almost half of my mortgage off in a year.

Aside from the house I live in barely anything is the same!

Edit: and the HDi!!

yes there was a few

both shins broken
right femur broken in half, top half out through skin and jeans
left hip ball through socket
2 broken ribs
left shoulder dislocted and chiped the ball (cant raise arm over head height)
20+ stiches in mouth chin and check (my lower lip could touch my ear)
and the 1 that caused the medics concern was the bleed on the brain

After all them the only things i still have is limited bend on right knee arm not raising fully and my memory is terible

But if im honnest if someone said they had a time machine and could take me back so it didnt happen i dont think i would, yes i've had pain but i've seen my daughter growing up
