My last Rallye had T1r's, the car drove horribly, lot's of understeer and poor wet performance.Changed back to my PE2 favourites as soon as I could. I've now got Avon ZV5's, which are not in the same league as PE2, but they're very good So good, I might try the ZV3's, which I gather, are more like the PE2's ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

ZV3 aren't great. The 5s are ok, but I've found they wear out quite fast on both volvo and 406. Predictable and grippy though. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

I thought the 3's would be the better tyre of the two? If the avon site is to be believed ________________________________________ Red Rallye - Rolling "restoration"Wishbone Polybushes available |

bumping an old thread instead of a new one.I got a price of £44 for T1-R's fitted and balanced per wheel. Still can't decide whether it is worth buying the PE2'S instead though. Are the toyo's good in the wet as i think somewhere i read they were ________________________________________ A red rallye in progress! |

personally, for what you'll probably pay for 195/50/15 pe2s (pilot sport 3s now iirc), you could get the toyo t1rs in the correct 55 profile50 profile don't fill the arches aswell as the o/e 55 profile **edit** personally, i loved the toyos on my rallye. was really confident with the tyres in the wet ________________________________________ FRESHLY RE-FURBISHED GTI BEAMSFITTING AND LOWERING AVAILABLE. I know they don't fill the arch properly but mine being very low at the back will be better off with the 50's What about grip wise then for the t1r's? ________________________________________ A red rallye in progress! |

You won't get pilot sport 3s in 15s I doubt. I had PS2s on my old Saab in 17s and that was the smallest they went with them. Absolutely epic tyre though! Can only imagine the PS3 is an improvement. |

grip wise, can't fault the t1rs. would continually buy them, but have just moved up to 16" wheels ________________________________________ FRESHLY RE-FURBISHED GTI BEAMSFITTING AND LOWERING AVAILABLE. I had t1r's Never again I 4k miles from the fronts, 7k from the back. The side wall collapsed on ns rear and grip never felt great. However, pe2's in the 50 profile are awesome! Grip better in the dry by miles and the wet grip is epic! Worth the extra. Cant get ps3's in that profile yet though. Dont waste your money on toyo t1r's. You'll be dissapointed for sure. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

I've had Toyos and I thought they were very good - for a cheap-ish tyre. Evo magazine did a tyre test some years ago and they stacked up pretty well to the more expensive brands - but you get what you pay for. Also, I think the T1-R is not quite as good as the T1-S it replaced, but tyres are a personal thing and opinions vary widely. But my current Rallye has nasty Doublestar budgets on there (PO put them on) which are very unpleasant in the wet and I can't imagine they were significantly cheaper than Toyos. The next tyres I put on will be PE2s (in 55-profile, as I drive on the motorway and don't want the car to rev any higher than it already does at speed). ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

I'd agree about the t1s being better. I genuinly used to love them and was all i'd use 8 years ago. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

The load rating is too low on 50's over the 55's, Never seen any issue's with this thou but I think a garage supplying the wrong size should not, I know years ago I got refused to change to 50's so went elsewhere________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

I currently run T1R's on the front of my 6 and I can't fault them. They are very very grippy in both wet and dry conditions and have a pretty solid sidewall which suits my driving style. Time will tell with the wear rate but they do seem pretty soft, for now though I'm extremely happy with the grip they offer as well as being reasonably priced. ________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |
