I found the following from Mei
Now, I made a start on this the other day and stripped everything off inluding the pin, arm and top bush and just have the bolts holding the box on ready to go back out with my new clutch and whip the box off to fit it.
Hopefully I am not too late with the marking of the arm But as the fork/shaft is still in situ and the box hasn't been loosened at all, can I 'get away' with putting the arm back on top and looking where the pin hole is through the shaft and then marking up?
When the box is ready to go back on, is it a case of lining the arm marks back up so it is in the position it was in previously when the cable was unclipped from it?
This could potentially save me hours of swearing this evening so any pointers greatly appreciated.
When I fitted the gearbox to my J4RS in the 205 it was the simpler case of bearing on to fork which I didn't realise this differed until I opened the clutch box and found the bearing already on the plate.
