I have a safety devices 6point bolt in cage and at the moment it in the car but im not happy with it.Ireally want a harness bar added on to the cage like russian guy and cosmic spanner have, but safety device sais its a custom job which means i'll have to get a new back half at 360quid:-( I dont fancy a daveyboy bar because i put bikes in the back of the car that will get in the way. can someone help me.......rather spen 360 to get a bar and plates welded than to pay 360 for the back half to the still have to pay more for the welding jobs.

why can't you just weld a new harness bar into the existing SD cage? what do you mean new back half? you mean if you go to SD?

yeah safety devices wont send out just a bar. they said they need to have the cage back and that it would end up costing as much as a new back half.

just get a profiled bar made up, i'm sure phil or dave could knock one up if you gave them the measurements and your welder could add it in

unless i am missing something and it's not feasible to do on the SD cages. i am sure i saw 'trackman' had a SD cage on here with the harness bars added in, maybe they were done by SD though

Just buy a length of t45 for 20 squid cut to length and profile the ends and get a qualified welder to weld it properly rub back oxide treat it and blow in. Took my mate about 20 mins on my last cage.

harness bar pix, no real place for them to other than as horizontal to the seat hole / bend in the harness as it hits your shoulder

In your case they wouldn't be too bad lower down on the cage to tie the feet together.
