Oddly, I'm not sure if that was intentional on your part, or an iPhone predictive typo.

Hit me up Billyboy. I've never used Skype but it sounds domineering. Do I just sit on cam while you make me feel inadequate?

Yeah it was just for info. Was wondering if radtec would still have the dimensions etc or if it was just a one off exclusive from your own measurements?

It's been dead since the server switch over........which has made the sites running even worse if anything. Add to the fact that i feel were now over adminned makes it an easy decision to leave Yes

one leaves and two will join. if anyone thinks for one minute that the gears of the site will stop turning because some older members are leaving then you can think again. i can't wait to be here talking to owain about his broken 306

it will cease to a halt I tell you! And the only threads made are ones where you are reminiscing about the classic long term members such as shinbone and Mousebrown.

Right.. time to jump in while I still have a voice with which to post...

My particular disagreement started a while ago and - as others have tried to point out - it's not the amount (yes I can afford £5), it's that awkward little bugger called principle. And here's my principle:

After years of contributing and offers to help from some of us - overhauling the site during its many wilderness years with an MIA owner, to wanting to contribute towards hosting, bandwidth - it's a pretty low blow to now ask us to pay to "contribute". I class myself very much in the fringes of "helpful" compared to others Happy but I would argue the only reason there's something to even monetise is thanks to all the questions answered, knowledge imparted and the technical FAQs people created, for free...people who are now expected to pay for the privilege?!

Some of us were waiting to see whether there'd even be a token gesture and (as an example) anyone who'd contributed a FAQ would be offered a year's complimentary membership, but that didn't happen - no real surprise there, given that it didn't even occur that it was a bit mean to expect the Admins to pay to do their job (until they kicked up a fuss - and rightly so)!!

So there, I've said my piece. 1st World Problems, eh? Wink

    TLDR
It's the content that is the "value" in a forum, and therefore gives you something you can charge money for, not the code it's running on.
