At the price of £5 per year, it works out at 1.3p per day. Are times really that hard? Dunno

Only joking James, the forum is going to be a more boring place without you. Who is going to be the butt of all the cheap shots now? Unsure

That's a shame you feel like that mate, you're a good member and have a lovely example of a GTi-6 there...

I know you've been at the end of a lot of banter, but it's all meant on a friendly basis I'm sure. Yes

Hopefully, I will catch up with you at Pugfest along with all the others. Smile

For many it's not about the 1.3p a day, it's the principal - for others it's not being held to ransom, it's more of an ultimatum.

Not really. Tescos sell food. If you want it, you will have to pay for it. If you don't pay for it you will starve, or you could steal it and be arrested.

This is more of an ultimatum, and yet no-one grumbles.

Look at the fuel prices, if you want it you will pay the £1.50 per litre thats being charged because you want it. Doesn't matter whats being charged, if the demand is there people will buy it. Yes

Based on those two examples alone, it makes the 1.3p per day charge to stay here seem luxurious.
You need food to live, most need fuel to get to work etc to be able to buy the food to live.
These are ultimatums placed on all of us every single living day, yet we all get on with it because we HAVE to. Yes

This forum is not a necessity to everyday living. If the ultimatum is too big a jump then say your goodbyes. Its quite simple, and despite what most think, no-one is being forced to do anything against their will...

Quite. Much as people bang on about how times are hard and no-one has any money, people will still throw £7 at a box of cigarettes every day without batting an eyelid; people will pay £4 for a pint, have a quick grumble then get on with ordering another.

Real shame some people are being so funny about it, looks like we're losing some entertaining long-standers out of some kind of silly childish pride. The more of them leave yes - the more dull the place will come and then all those people will say "told you so, it was going to be rubbish", even though they basically caused its downfall.

    Oh well, c'est la vie.
