I'm looking to put some ph2 seats in my ph3. The current seats have air bags. Replacements don't.

Now that is going to throw the light up. Is it the same old story as with removing the steering wheel airbag when fitting an aftermarket wheel, or is it a different ball game? With the new MOT rulings I'm not sure what differnce it makes with the seat situation.

I've had ph2s with air bag seats, not sure if they were retrofitted by someone due to the wear situation, or if it's just luck of the draw having being '98s and perhaps bein the first to have air bag seats.

Are you asking if your going to get stung because you will no longer have seat airbags?

If so i would say its extremely unlikely they would even notice. I believe it now fails for the light being on though, take the bulb out..

I'm pretty sure the new mots will be doing electrical check so they will know if you have removed the bulb.
If your old seats are fubard then take the airbags out and come mot day, plug them in and wedge them under the seats, or extent the wires and chuck them in the boot.

Or put a resistor in the circuit would be the other alternative. See what happens I guess

I'm hoping to do the same but with ph.1 seats...would the same as above apply, or slight differences in ph1 and ph2 set ups?

Good luck getting through your next MOT. The light needs to illuminate and go out as it is now part of the test.

I found that the seats I got were airbag units, so didn't need to worry about this in the end.

could use a 1.8 fused ohm resistor as this thread suggests.
