QuoteNo idea on a price I've not really thought about it. Initial plan was to sell it this spring rather than keep it but I like it. Spec wise it's ph1.5 1.9 shell with a standard 6 lump in it and up rated brakes. Converted properly, not thrown in of an afternoon. I spent many an evening an weekend paiting everything and getting new bolts to be a big girl. For me the conversion is more the fun part opposed to driving the finished thing. I spent way too much on it with genuine peugeot parts etc but kept me out of mischief over the winter. Have suspension to go on it but never have to time to sort the beam. Il do a project thread on it at some point. I was going to strip it out, cage it and what not but the interior is fairly decent and I just can't justify rippin it out, and shelling out for a decent cage when it wont get on track more than a few times a year. After following Dan for a fair few miles recently I can confirm that it goes well, very well and it looks the dogs as well, it even misses volvos that stop suddenly as well..... ________________________________________ No more peugeotsSnap - no more RS clio Now Ph1 RS clio |

Anyway back on topic:-My 2 pennath for what its worth. Nothing stays the same for ever, people will leave, new people will join, the club will evolve/ change - maybe for the better maybe for the worse, time will tell I suppose. If you want to pay the fiver great if not that is your choice, I have saved loads over the years and recieved some good advice and made use of the large amount of info available on the site. Also this place has made me laugh so much in the last 5 years a fiver a year seems a small price to pay(sometimes laughing with you, sometimes laughing at you!). I have even met some of you and on the whole you seem a pretty good bunch who all have a love of cars and of course the 6! If the 14th is a turning point for the forum then I for one hope it is a positive moment and the forum can move forward. Dave. ________________________________________ No more peugeotsSnap - no more RS clio Now Ph1 RS clio |

Well I’m back for now but I fear this maybe a whirlwind affair because I’ll likely get banned again when “Stan the Ban Man” throws what toys he’s got left out of his pram again! stan_306gti6 wrote: Ok..... So it seems a few people are confused/upset as to why Stevie Put has been "banned". I shall do my best to try and explain... ryangti6 wrote: Part of being a good admin isnt having the right to ban anyone that tells you to F off, not Imo anyway. This is true, and this was not the reason Stevie got banned. It was the final straw after watching his posts over the last week or so, full of negativity for the way the site was progressing. ryangti6 wrote: Steve is free to make whatever comments he wants at the end of the day, his original comment wasnt offensive in anyway so I think you over reacted in the first instance nevermind the second. This again is true, however there was no need to be so 'bitter' sounding about it. The new changes are going to cost members 1.3p a day to continue exactly as you are now. Personally, I think if that's not acceptable then maybe you should move on. Other long-term members have done exactly this... Nev, Jamma etc have explained the site isn't for them as a "pay-to-post" system and have said their goodbyes. They weren't negative, they didn't slate the forum, they had an opinion and myself and all the rest of the Admin staff respect that opinion and decision. Its a shame but I wish them luck. ryangti6 wrote: Fair enough you may not feel his comments are necessary and that it's not the first time he has said things but if that's his opinion he is entitled to it, I don't see how you have the right to ban him for expressing it His comments weren't necessary, and if he felt that way he should have done what the others have done. Simply explained the layout wasn't for them and moved on. Let's not forget for 1.3p a day, nothing has to change, and like Rikky correctly points out no-one is being held to ransom here. No-one is being forced to pay. If you don't want to pay, move on. People have that choice. However, its a choice that every single member here has had to make, and in order to respect others perhaps we should all make that decision on our own and then feel free to post up whether we're happy to pay or we're saying our goodbyes. Either way there is no room then for negativity to brood. ryangti6 wrote: and I'm sorry but doing what you have done makes you look like a right c**t Tbh. It's like look at me I have admin powers especially when you make further cocky comments after banning him It is fair to say that being in a position of authority doesn't always make you the most popular person on the planet. However, I, along with Jeffers and Rich E opted to become Admin's for the good of the SITE. Not for individual people or anything else. A lot of members I'm sure will agree that the site had somehow 'lost its way' slightly and people were thinking about leaving here for good. We jumped aboard to try and MAKE a difference, make this place somewhere people were happy to stay and enjoy 306 talk, and banter. I think in the main we are acheiving these goals. However, as the saying goes "you can't please all of the people all of the time" and its pointless trying to achieve that. ryangti6 wrote: I think the "power" has gone to your head Stevie Put hasn't done anything "terrible" but he has consistantly posted negative comment after negative comment which wasn't necessary and didn't help the situation at all. It's a shame, hes always been a good helpful member and has been here a long time. Don't worry, his ban is only temporary and his account will be unlocked within plenty of time for him to log in and retrieve any personal PM's etc and to say his goodbyes properly. "Power" gone to my head? I don't think so. It's simply a case of trying to do the best job possible for a community which I've been part of for a long time. As I said above, you won't please everyone and its silly to try, but to be honest the amount of PM's I get thanking me for the work I do here for people (in my spare time) far outweigh the ones that criticise. And until that ratio changes, I'll stick by my instinct and continue to try and deliver the most complete and fairest service I can to this community. Stan, can you please point me or link me to all of these negative comments you speak of? I suspect you can’t!! As I’ve had two days to look I really can’t find anywhere I’ve slated the forum, or, as Rikky has said, even moaned and cried like a girl. The three examples that could viewed as ever so slightly negative are: 1: Where I’ve said that I think the site will go downhill, something pointed out by not just me I might add, but many others as well. 2: One where I’ve said that the new admin team will need good luck cause the forum is full of c**ts. A bit harsh TBH but there are a fair few c**ts still on here and paid up so they’re going no where 3: One where I said the forum was full of over opinionated idiots. At the time that didn’t include you Stan but to my surprise you’ve made yourself out to be top tit on this occasion. Now let’s cut to the chase shall we. All your claims of what I have said is quite frankly a load of un-substantiated bulls**t , written by yourself to try and justify my un-called for ban. The real reason I got banned is nothing to do with “all my negative comments” at all (they don’t exist) - it’s all to do with you being an immature little boy not liking being told to f**k off. And let me tell you something else too. The only reason you were told to f**k off is because you made a comment directed directly at me and me alone. This is/was a grown up forum, we’re all adults (I thought). For every action in life you’re going to get a reaction. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones- so the saying goes! My question about the club being here in 4 years was a slightly tongue in cheek question taken the wrong way by yourself. BUT there are no benefits to paying your membership other than to stay in touch with the people you’ve made good friends with over the years. I feel, and it’s just my opinion, that once this has all settled down and the first year is over, the club will be in decline and will be unlikely to carry on in the new format. I can’t see people keep paying their membership year on year for nothing in return. Maybe you’ll get a few oldies with some sort of blinkered loyalty paying their subscription but again this will fizzle out in time. I sincerely hope I’m completely wrong and I honestly mean that. As for you Rikky, I must admit I was a little surprised by your little outburst. Seems quite strange being called a girl by someone who quite regularly dresses up as one I’d also like to see all these posts where I’ve moaned so much as you say. Lastly to all of the guys I’ve met along the way, helped out with advise or even helped out hands on and don’t have contact details for, good luck in the future. Not just in the club but in life too. We all only get one go at it and it is way, way too short, so make the best of it. ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. You told Stan to "f**k Off" because he made a comment about you? I'd have banned you for telling me to f**k off without a vastly more justified reason too. Stan is doing a great job for this forum and since you won't be here next week perhaps none of this matters anyway. Strange how I thought you were a pretty decent chap over the years. Good luck in the future. ________________________________________ GTI-6 & RallyeRallye gets sideways in the wet at Snetterton |

So you'd abuse your admin powers too then Jim?? I don't know anyone that wouldn't react to the comment made by Stan towards me.As for me being a decent bloke? Well Tbh I think i am but forming an opinion of someone by what they post on a public forum is not really a fair reflection on them. If I were to do the same I doubt I'd have ever met up with Ed For what it's worth I too think Stan is doing a fine job as admin apart from the obvious. My only criticism is he seems feel the need to post in almost every thread. Anyway it's all water under the bridge now. SteviePut wrote: My only criticism is he seems feel the need to post in almost every thread. This isnt really fair. Just because he is admin does not mean he isnt allowed to post in threads. He posts as Stan the user, not stan the admin. Just because he is admin, this does not mean he cant post in threads, because he posts as a member as anyone else, not necessary an admin which i dont think means he cannot post in threads which i think he does anyway, not just because he is an admin and has to but because he is a avid user and wants to. I think he can post in threads however much he likes, but as a user, not as an admin. He can post however much he likes...but as an admin...no wait, i mean member. Anyway, ive known stan since a very young age, we have the same dad. he used to take us ice skating together every xmas... i dont think he has let the power go to his head. |

I agree with above.Stan posts a lot as a member. If he consistantly posted: "Please refer to the forum rules" "I have edited this" "This topic has now been moved" And so on, in threads then yeah I could understand. But he doesn't (not that I have noticed anyway). ________________________________________ |

Totally agree and that wasn't my point. He's posting as admin a hell of a lot more than the other admins. It's great if it's needed but sometime, IMO, it's not. I have no gripes with Stan at all tbf apart from what's happened. I've met him a couple of times and you're quite right in saying he's a half decent bloke. ________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. Perhaps Welly should be removed from the admin team as he isn't as active as required and another member put in his place - thus taking the strain from the others? Spreads the load out a bit yet retains the same amount of Admin.________________________________________ |
