Thanks for the support. Thumbs up

With comments like that, 14th April can't come quick enough to rid this place of exactly that kind of attitude...

Was that not a bit of jest back at your comment? The silly little boy bit makes me feel it perhaps was.

hes been whining and crying about this whole membership thing for weeks. glad to hear the end of it to be honest. ok, so he won't pay a fiver, but nobody cares really so pointless keep going on about it!

tbh I was gonna ask for a refund but it seems to be getting sorted out (the site) plus I've saved more than my membership fee in labour over the years so i'm happy

This forum is like an episode of Eastenders at times.

I just do not get all this drama. Really where does it come from?

It really amazes me people who whine on about paying a freaking fiver, just pathetic. Either pay the money or sod off, its that simple!

Time for some people to grow up in all fairness....the sooner the better then we can all go back to talking about cars and not log on to bicker like a bunch of old housewives.

    Christ! Tired

    +1

Part of being a good admin isnt having the right to ban anyone that tells you to F off, not Imo anyway.

Steve is free to make whatever comments he wants at the end of the day, his original comment wasnt offensive in anyway so I think you over reacted in the first instance nevermind the second.

Fair enough you may not feel his comments are necessary and that it's not the first time he has said things but if that's his opinion he is entitled to it, I don't see how you have the right to ban him for expressing it and I'm sorry but doing what you have done makes you look like a right c**t Tbh. It's like look at me I have admin powers especially when you make further cocky comments after banning him Roll eyes

    Ok.....

So it seems a few people are confused/upset as to why Stevie Put has been "banned". I shall do my best to try and explain...

    ryangti6 wrote:

This is true, and this was not the reason Stevie got banned. It was the final straw after watching his posts over the last week or so, full of negativity for the way the site was progressing.

    ryangti6 wrote:

This again is true, however there was no need to be so 'bitter' sounding about it. The new changes are going to cost members 1.3p a day to continue exactly as you are now. Personally, I think if that's not acceptable then maybe you should move on. Other long-term members have done exactly this... Nev, Jamma etc have explained the site isn't for them as a "pay-to-post" system and have said their goodbyes. They weren't negative, they didn't slate the forum, they had an opinion and myself and all the rest of the Admin staff respect that opinion and decision. Its a shame but I wish them luck.

    ryangti6 wrote:

His comments weren't necessary, and if he felt that way he should have done what the others have done. Simply explained the layout wasn't for them and moved on. Let's not forget for 1.3p a day, nothing has to change, and like Rikky correctly points out no-one is being held to ransom here. No-one is being forced to pay. If you don't want to pay, move on. People have that choice.
However, its a choice that every single member here has had to make, and in order to respect others perhaps we should all make that decision on our own and then feel free to post up whether we're happy to pay or we're saying our goodbyes. Either way there is no room then for negativity to brood.

    ryangti6 wrote:

It is fair to say that being in a position of authority doesn't always make you the most popular person on the planet. However, I, along with Jeffers and Rich E opted to become Admin's for the good of the SITE. Not for individual people or anything else. A lot of members I'm sure will agree that the site had somehow 'lost its way' slightly and people were thinking about leaving here for good. We jumped aboard to try and MAKE a difference, make this place somewhere people were happy to stay and enjoy 306 talk, and banter. I think in the main we are acheiving these goals. However, as the saying goes "you can't please all of the people all of the time" and its pointless trying to achieve that.

    ryangti6 wrote:

Stevie Put hasn't done anything "terrible" but he has consistantly posted negative comment after negative comment which wasn't necessary and didn't help the situation at all. It's a shame, hes always been a good helpful member and has been here a long time. Don't worry, his ban is only temporary and his account will be unlocked within plenty of time for him to log in and retrieve any personal PM's etc and to say his goodbyes properly. Smile

"Power" gone to my head? I don't think so. It's simply a case of trying to do the best job possible for a community which I've been part of for a long time. As I said above, you won't please everyone and its silly to try, but to be honest the amount of PM's I get thanking me for the work I do here for people (in my spare time) far outweigh the ones that criticise.

And until that ratio changes, I'll stick by my instinct and continue to try and deliver the most complete and fairest service I can to this community. Yes

I honestly don't think that's possible Roll eyes

Stan, I can see what you are trying to say and as far as taking on the role in your spare time etc I can't fault you, it's good to see people do still have the desire to keep this forum going and for what it's worth I think you are all helping the forum change in positive ways.

Your explanation of banning him though still doesnt seem right to me, I have seen Steve make many negative comments over the past few weeks and although I agree there is little to no need for his comments I still don't agree with banning someone for expressing their opinion, wether you agree with it or not.

The change that is to be made is bound to make for a bit of a negative atmosphere unfortunatley but in time that will hopefully dissapear. I think there are still a lot of the long standing members that are on the fence with making the decision and I can only see things like banning members being something that will put people off and adding to the negativity.
