Come to a bit of a halt on my engine bay resto, specifically on the gearbox. The little end plate held on with 5 x torx cap head bolts, the bit that pokes into the passanger arch was scabby, so i've prized it off, bending it in the process.

Been told by my usually good Pug parts man that its NLA and no-one in europes got one.... Fook.Thumbs down

Anywhere else i can try or has anyone got another idea?

Part number 2207 87.

I suppose i could straighten it but its gonna bug me cos its ropey. The plate is held on with a thin but strong smear of black RTV by the look of it.

Thanks.

just get one from a 2nd hand box and wire wheel it to bring it up new if needbe

i bet it'd be quicker to get a machinist to just knock one up

How about taking the plate to a local machinists and getting them to make you another one?

Can't see it being too expensive or hard to make? Unsure

I'd thought about making one but its quite an involved pressing, theres an oil way/slinger built into the underside to direct oil to the very end bearing in the gearbox,

Its getting them off without damaging them thats the issue. Wish id have left the bas**rd thing alone now,Crazy

Plenty of people buy replacements for knackered ones, so there must be a few boxes that get dumped which could be of use to Matt before it gets scrapped.
