Hi guys need some help, just bought my first 1.9 Diesil Turbo XUD Phaze II and am trouble shooting around the engine bay have found a couple of pipes needing help with.

1. Clearish (when not dirty) pipe coming of what i think is the fuel filter ? it just hangs down by the gearbox and im sure it should attatch to sumthink ?

Pipe down center of screen

2. Behind the Battery (back right hand sie of engine bay) i have found a snapped off pipe quite small but is attached (or was) to a kind of sensor by the looks of it with a green plug on it, pipe runs parallel with another under the intercooler, the other pipe is attached to the top half of the place it has snapped off, any help is appreciated thanks

Welcome mate Wave

Sadly there aren't alot of diesel owners on this site as its intended audience is GTI-6's and Rallyes.maybe worth popping over to pug306.net as theres far mor diesel owners on there

Top one is i think the water drain off pipe from the fuel filter housing. (going from memory when i had a 406 1.9 DT)

As for the second one, no idea.

First pic is definitely of the water drain hose from the fuel filter. Yes

As stated, Pug306.net has a vast range of knowledge on the diesel side of the 306's so try over there and I'm sure you will get a suitable answer. Smile

The second picture is the EGR solenoid valve... Repair those pipes, or at least block off each side of it, as at part throttle it'll open your brake vacuum pump to atmosphere, losing your brake vacuum...

So either pull off both pipes and bung them (woodscrew up the end of the pipe...) and it'll disable the EGR whilst you're at it or repair it and unplug the green connector.

And yeah, first is the water drain for the filter housing, perfectly normal.
