Yup, had already considered that. I've always taken a local copy whenever I've posted an update on my build thread though And yes new forum would be easy, but everyone would have to get back on creating FAQs, although that could be quite good fun. For once, every answer wouldn't be "use the search, idiot!". ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

But i'm not ungrateful, I have paid my membership and am certainly not unhappy with the forum, I enjoy being here and would be gutted if it wasn't here. However, If a new forum were to appear which was ultimately the same as this but with all the improvements we want then I would be even happier. I dont exactly think it's unfair especially when all this has been put forward to Ash for months and he has chosen to do nothing about it. Again, I stress that's his choice and I am not slating him for it but he can't exactly then turn around and be unhappy about someone else doing it first. |

Put it this way, for this forum to develop, Ash needs to 1. Get wind of this thread. 2. Understand that there's a possibility that if he chooses not to improve the forum then someone may beat him to it. 3.Then needs to decide whether he wants/has the time to improve or decide not to bother. Ultimately, I think if he want's to maintain this site then all the above will be met and everyones happy otherwise you'll simply beat him to it. |

Whenever I update my thread, I do it in notepad first so I can read it through and check for mistakes etc. I just save each one to my hard disk.________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Thanks for your viewpoint. I think we are simply just trying to keep it all together and to move things forward in the way which the vast majority want. Obviously, we are powerless though, so we are merely trying to piece together a map for a better future. i dont care how gay it sounds... but you are an absolute inspiration Stan. your passion for the forum, the cars and the members is second to none, i am in awe of you. the last few days i have spent most of my time in the technical forums trying to solve problems and plan for new parts and the last post in every single technical thread is always you. so from me personally id like to say a big thankyou to you and i hope you never give up on this and i think its publicly known that i am a big fan of Owain, ive always found him very helpful and honest, especially on non car related threads, is there anything you dont know? with you two in charge this forum would be the best site on the web I don't really know what to say to that! I suppose, thanks, I'm glad you find my input useful and inspirational. After all, we all have the same common interest, and you're right I am passionate about the forum, the cars and the members who reside on this site. That's the whole point of the forum, to have a bit of banter whilst helping each other out with the common interest, and its works well most of the time. Being a member here for over 8 years now, I will of course aim to stay around for a lot longer and do as much as I can for the members. I am hoping a resolve can be made with this site, but if in time it appears that a resolution can't be found, then I suppose I would support the "new" site. I am agreed on the fact I think it should be a last resort, but never the less an option. We have pretty much all agreed on what the majority of people here would like, so now its a case of waiting and seeing whether Ash decides the points made are valid and implements the changes or whether he decides after 10 years enough is enough and shuts it down. I for one would be sad to see that happen, but I could understand the politics behind it. As a rallying call, Ash, please run your eyes over this thread, have a think and let us know your viewpoint on the discussion, at least. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

ian7675 wrote: Some newer members need to realise that there are no "haters" on this forum. I've been on here over 4 years and I won't stop coming on here because I no longer have a 6 and if you don't like that then you leave. The 6 is a good car but now we're in the 21st century there are many better cars out there and most members opinions might seem negative about 6's but they're not, the comments are just facts. Ian, (I presume) not sure if this was intended for me or not but thanks for pointing out the first line. I named this thread wrong (should've been 'You want to improve it, do something about it' ). It was late in the day when I created the post and after reading a few 'useless idiotic posts' I felt the need to say something. I am the new guy on the block on this forum but not with cars and car people. I think you'll agree by starting this thread I've stirred up a (hopefully) useful hornets nest that may (hopefully, again lol) mean a change for the better. Owain and Stan, I totally agree with 99% of the comments you've made on this thread and would like to offer any help I can if things progress one way or another. Also thanks to everyone else for (kind of) not spamming this thread. Kev. ________________________________________ IPhase 3 Astor. Built on Wednesday, 12th April 2000 in France.
