A friend of mine has a fender roll machine, so i took it and try it on the 306...of course before that, the cutting session has left it's marks.

Some new goodies for the S16...

Steering wheel quick release...

Steering rack ball joints, made with a bigger pin to avoid the bumpsteer efect on lowered cars.

Quickshift with a new higher base, making it shorter and closer to the steering wheel, without loosing any of the correct/mechanic feel that i like.

In the lower end, the original plastic bush was replaced by two roller bearings, eliminating any possible material wear.

I found the balljoints through Carl Chambers project topic, at:

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/mcgillmotorsports/&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2754

Then i adapted the threared pin to the ball joint, so i can screw it directly to the original steering arms.
The pin has a diferent thread in each side.

Clen, this work isn't made for comercial purposes, because the factory and machines that i use are used for making/creating new machines from scratch, for industrial purposes.
Me and my friends only do this for fun, because i don't live for this...i'm a physical education teacher during the day!! lolol

Marco, Porto has a city circuit on Boavista, wich hosts the WTCC every two years, but the rest of the year, is a normal road.

Some news...
- Quick release for the steering wheel
- Wilwood hydraulic handbrake and brake bias valve

The original handbrake base was cutted and positioned on the new spot. The hydraulic handbrake was plug & play to the original base.

The weather near Porto is a complete summer/beach invitation...but in Algarve, where's the rally of Portugal is running, there's a complete flood...

I'm now on vacations, and the car is finally ready to start working...i hope tomorrow is the day!

The works for this week were:

- Fully checked liquids (PA, Engine, Coolant, Gearbox and brakes oil)

- Braking system bleeded

- Baffled sump mounted

Some goodies to be mounted at the weekend.

Wideband LC-1

By rxs306 at 2012-03-28

Oil temp gauge to be mounted on the steering column.

Teaser shots... Wink

Eddy, my rings don't come off the hubs, because they are part of it...
I'm using the 306gti/hdi driveshafts and hubs, not the 406 one's. Even with the extension made at the balljoints, the original driveshafts still fit nicely!!

Hi atterz...the seat was bought on ebay, from a japanese seller!

Last weekend, the s16 got back on track for the second stage of the portuguese time attack. After some problems during the preparation for this, including a blown engine after 2miles rolling last week, the result was great...1st place at it's class!!

Some pics of it...

Good effort in the time attack Yes

There is no way you can be competitive in UK time attack, people have too much money Sad

Do you not need a rollcage? Is this something on your list of things to do?

Also, pictures look great, love this car Love

UK is in another level, without any doubt, but i can give you an example...
The 2nd place car was a 95 civic with a tuned k20 engine (260hp), weighting less than the 306...and it finished 2nd!! Wink
Money helps, but it´s not everything, especially in Portugal...and i don't mind at all!! lol

The rollcage isn't a mandatory item on my class, only on Super Pro, along with slick tyres.
My class only asks for 3kg extinguisher properly secured inside the car, along with the basic safety features.

Of course the rollbar is a thing to do next, but it will have to wait a little longer than expected, because now i will rebuild my tuned engine. The engine used on this stage was a complete stock one.

During this week, i'm hoping to show some more great pics of it. Wink
