Dash looks spot on!

What is this rally tissue you speak of? I am in the process of removing my dash and was thinking of getting it flocked, but cheapest quote I have had is £100 Unsure

Great build thread!

Couple of things:
1. Reinforce the top engine mount on the shell as it will crack with a solid mount - they are bad enough with normal ones.
2. Be careful with the amount of float in the driveshafts increasing the camber that way - they are likely to pop out on full lock. If you speak to CRF450 (martin) on here he machines the hubs to give greater camber that way. He also does loads of stuff on the rear suspension to give more camber etc etc.
3. Have a look at seam welding the front subframe.

Thanks guys... Wink

Cjm...the jobs are made by me, but the final price for a complete dash is not so cheap!
A 106 complete dash is around 85 pounds, but if i went to a upholterer to do the job, it would double the price. I spent almost 5 hours in the making of it!
This tissue gives almost the famous rubber touch, and it's really dark. In the pictures, i can't capture the real colour of it. I will try and take better ones with a proper camera.
This is what many race cars use instead of flocking. It gives better touch and can be easily cleaned, but is harder to apply than flock.

Adam, thanks in advance for the advice Wink
1- I'm already using a thicker stud on this mount, but the car has already done 4k miles with another rigid setup, always on track and hill roads, and the shell is still nice. It easier to crack it in UK due the rust!! lol
My problem is the amount of power that it will have to cope with now, because it passes from a s16 almost stock engine for a gti6 with more than 200hp...let's hope it can do the job. lol

2- The driveshafts that i'm going to use are from a 406, because they are just about 3cm longer than the 306 one's, giving me the extra length that i need.

3- The subframe has already been seam welded.

Welshpug, this ph3 are made only by special order. They´re not available on the Newman catalogue.
They still use hydraulics, but on the edge of their limit.
The car is now using the xu10j4rs, not the original one j4 from the first pictures.
The inlet and TB were from a gti6 from the beginning!

Adam, as i said, the car has already been using a rigid setup for a while now, and there's no marks of damage on the mount base. Wink

Thanks Eddy Wink
The phase will get to an end in the next 15 days...the work is almost finished.

The wiper and motor are standard, but the mounts had to be modified.
On your offside mount, it just needs to be drilled a 4mm hole beneath the original one.
The drivers side mount needs to be welded to the car.

I'm not doing it wrong, i'm doing it different...but better!!

You are putting a nonsense rollcage instead of a decent one...that's what's wrong!!
Do not try to mess around with me, when you make mistakes like that...you're just digging a bigger hole for yourself.

This is not a ph1 gti6!!
A 306 rallye is just a gti6 without leather seats, electric windows and radio... Wink

If you'd understand my coment on the cage, i don´t know what's happening with your posts in my topic!!
Just go around the block and see if i'm there...ok!!??

Always in a good mood...but this kind of wise guys just have to know the right ways.
If the critic was correct in his topic, i don't know what's the problem with him...even criticizing something that isn't done!!

Going on...the s16 is back on 4 wheels again!!
The suspension is mounted, but there will be a change in the lenght of the spindle, because it has just too much!

That's a mint 320is model...2.0cc 4cyl 192hp...the engine is just an M3 with less power and some cc! lolol
It has only been sold in Portugal and Italy due to taxes apllied on the cc of the engines!

We were mounting some braided hoses on it...
