Hi
Cheers from Portugal...

After 2hdi, it was time for a petrol 306!!
The choice was a 306 S16 with the XU10J4 engine, bought mainly for trackday use!!

By the time i've bought it...

Then the stripping started....

Carpets out
Interior out
Electric sunroof off
Bonnet inner strut off
Boot inner strut off
Doors inner strut off
Rear loom rebuilt
...

By the time it got back on the road, it still used the s16 engine with a "tiny" remap, but already with some mods like the gti6 inlet and TB, brake braided lines, rigid engine mounts, bmc induction kit, 283mm tarox g88 discs all around with red stuff...

On 16'

After the first tests, a group of friends scheduled a trip to the Portugal's highlands...and the S16 made it's first big trip!!

These last pics are with track tyres and wheels...but for road use, the setup is a little bit different.

Nevermind the headlights...on the ebay auction that i won, this vynil was supposed to be yellow...Big grin Big grin Big grin

The strutless bonnet effect... LOL LOL LOL

Or the stance version...no bonnet at all!! LOL
This pic was taken during a small maintenance on a hill road that we usually drive along.

The stage 2 is going on right now...i will post some of the goodies that are going to be used!!
The real rallye wannabe stage is next...LOL LOL

Thanks guys... Wink

Atterz, in Portugal, these kind of headlight colours are not legal. I have a pair of them only for some "party days"! lol

Mike, i don´t now exactly. The remap was done mainly to adapt the ignition map to the gti6 inlet, because there are a lot differences that are caused by the s16 vacuum controlled inlet.

I think it is legal - the requirements for headlights are that they're white or yellow. But I'm fairly certain the police wouldn't be too keen on them for some reason.
Tempted to find out tbh - Lamin-x is fairly cheap Thumbs up

Thats exactly what im thinking, i like the look of them and the light output is the same with decent bulbs. And lets be honest standing out on the road makes you more visable at night!

I always loved the retro yellow lights from the french cars like 309/205... so i tryed do the same on the 306 for fun.

By the last time i went to UK, i've noticed that a lot of trucks used yellow lights, so i suppose that it can be legal around there.

Letting go the xu10j4 engine, it's time to make it serious...XU10j4RS!!

Let the goodies begin to show...

Polycarbonate side windows, plus sunroof cover!!

Team dynamics pro-race 1 15' x 7' ET8...BTCC style
Toyo R888 GG 205/50

That would be spot on mate! You buy a lot of stuff from the UK!

Them brakes look spot on, why are the helper springs on the top of the main spring instead of underneath it?

Almost everything i buy, comes from UK...usually from ebay.

That was just a trial fit for both brakes and suspension.
Those aren't helper's, these are tender springs because they're not supposed only to secure the main spring in it's position. It actually works on moderate driving.
