insurance on a standard evo 6 = £2950

I mean WTF!

Also parts for a six are bloody cheap (especially from on here) and evo parts/servicing/running costs are way higher.

That too Si Yes

Most of my mates have jap turbo motors etc, and like you say, they are expected to be fast. When a supposedly *faster* car cant shake off a shitty french tin, it is a good feeling Smile

Plus, an Evo is more likely to be stolen/vandalaised etc. I have heard of people being woken up by burglars with a knife to hand over evo keys. Dont think this has ever happened to a 306 owner Laugh

No-one ever vandalised my Evo, nor did they put a knife to my throat for the keys. Yet TWICE people tried to jack me in my 306, once in my DTurbo and once in my S16!

If you go around with the "can't have it because someone might be jealous" attitude, we'd never own anything nice....

I had someone try to car jack my old 6. Group of pikeys in an old escort blocked the road, 1 got out with his hood up face down thumbing in his pouch for something whilst storming towards my car. I promptly stamped on the gas, dumped the clutch and headed for the small gap they left, the lad was in the way but hey ho... He leapt out the way I scraped the car through the hedgerow and flew off down the road. Got home and rang the police and the had a go at me for trying to run the lad over and didnt seem to worry about the fact they were up to no good. Still, least I know my sense of self preservation is good. Smile
