Haha I am not judging him at all... I appreciate that he may be a very helpful guy, but I wanted to start off by letting people know that I won't take crap from anyone ...The '6 is still being rebuilt so I may be picking his brains anyways! I can gather that the zx isn't a run-of-the-mill zx anyway..... Let the banter flow, but be prepared to get a bigger mouthful back! |

Just out of interest, have you noticed anything iffy about the spot welds on the door shut where the quarter panel joins? I won't go in to details if there is no need to, but I would advise you have a nosey.________________________________________ |

Hopefully not. I recognise the number plate from an incident that was mentioned on here a long time ago.As I say, I don't want to alarm you if it isn't the same one. But have a look if you get a chance just in case mate. If it's the same car, you will probably see signs straight away under the door seals. There is no way they would be able to straighten that without replacing the whole panel. ________________________________________ |

I've tried to find the thread about it but it's been archived for some strange reason. Threads older than that are still there so is very odd.Anyone know anything else about this one? ________________________________________ |

Welcome Pascoe, good lad for saving a 6, and double kudos for buying a Manstone - they are the best colour Nice to see one getting saved rather than another guy breaking one to make a few quid! Can you get some bigger pics up? ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |

Just spoke to the guy, and he says the only damage it has had since 2003 is a rear impact in a car park that wasnt declared as the other driver did a runner....It came from a guy called Steve in Mlilton Keynes I will put some more pics up soon. Yeah I figured it was a shame to break her up, as the bodywork is immaculate. Never seen one so clean. Whether this was because it has been sprayed/repaired or just looked after, she is a peach Just putting a new crank pulley on, and timing it up this afternoon... Learnt the hard way that the pulleys can slip off tdc when the belt snaps... After a full day trying to time it up by eye She should be living again soon! |

So it was Dannys old one then?He never says anything about it. Odd, as the main reason he sold after getting it repaired was because he didn't want to have his kids going out in it. You'd think he would forewarn people, makes me wonder if he knows something else we don't. ________________________________________ |
