Hey guys, just thought I'd say hi on here...

I won't bore you too much, but needless to say, I have been after one of these since i was being ferried about as a child in my Dad's 306.. < changed due to a technicality....

I never usually buy cars or bikes in full working order, and the 6 was no excepton. From what I gather, cam belt snaps are quite common with these if not maintained correctly, and this had suffered that problem.

I have changed a few parts on the car, and this is how she stands now.

Still not running though, just waiting on head bolts Smile

Just thought I'd introduce another 6 to the forum....

welcome, not sure if you are aware but as a kind on initiation, every new member has to post up a picture of their penis.

Welcome! Just be careful to check every valve and guide properly as they'll tap after if they are even slightly bent. You may not be able to see the bend. Nice to see one being saved rather than being broken after snapping Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice! I have a recon head on the car now, was going to cost at least £70 to replace the bent valves and guides (that I could see), and I got a reconditioned head for £110, that hadn't been skimmed as many times either!

Basically the 1.9tD uses a fully mechanical fuel system. That doesn't mean it can't be played with, in fact it makes it a huge amount cheaper to get more power out. Quite a lot different in every respect to the GTi6 though.

If it was a later HDi then it could have been chipped.

As for you Mei, my 406 dTurbo does have an ecu on the same engine so do one :-P

My apologies, I must've misread the forum title... Didn't see the 'oh, and old zx's as well' on the end....

My point is; I could easily correct all your grammar and punctuation on all your posts, but I don't, because that isn't the main point of what you're saying.

I get the feeling you're 'that guy' who picks at everyone's minor mistakes/errors.... I picked that up after your first post (genius eh?)...

Just pay attention to the main subject of what is being said, no-one likes a smart-arse....

That is all.
