As said above Stans runs throttle body after charger so needs one, the other setups run throttle body before the charger so cant use one.

you can them distinctly on u tube but that's because there blow off valves or dump valve to atmosphere.
Mine and stans are recirculating so you dont hear it as much, I only ever hear mine over 5k rpm then it's a quick loud chirp.
I'm sure when I heard rich's his sounded different, more of a pshh than a chirp but was years ago so can't really remember and his may be a different one.
I don't hear a distinct whine with mine either, sometimes I think I can hear a slight whine but the exhaust is so loud it may cover it up.

I may be wrong but I swear mine in low boost was faster than that, it seemed to fly up the clock much quicker but I can't see if it's going uphill there or if it's windy eg
How much boost does this run?

Thought it may of been uphill, how do you adjust the speedo so it's bang on?
I thought you had the restrictor opened up a bit?
Why did mine make 10-11 psi in low boost form, after I had the boost pipe split it them made 9-10 for some reason, it really did feel quick for 230-250bhp, I never had it on a dyno though.
That does sound really sweet, what exhaust do you have?

Andy - You will hear it whine if the exhaust wasn't so loud.

When I have been out with other Pugs and they are in front, they same all they can hear is the whine, but once I go past its the exhaust noise takes over.

I know this is true, because my exhaust broke sometime ago and whilst I was having it TIG welded back up, I had to drive the car from one place to another so I quickly bolted the standard system back on and the whine was really loud as the exhaust was now almost silent. LOL

Stan.

Honestly didnt realise Rotrex SCs whined, does it sound somewhat like a turbo? As its effectively just a compressor side of a turbo isnt it?

The whine is there, it is so pronounced when you have a quiet exhaust system. Its easily overpowered by a loud system though.

the sucking of air on the high boost cars is more pronounced. But because of the little restrictor on the low boost it isnt heard as much.

the charger itself does not whine like other chargers, this is down to the design and the traction fluid!

Andy, my 6 on generic map was quick yes, but on a custom live tune by wayne its another car! The exhaust system is a 2.5" mandrel welded manifold back system with only one LARGE backbox, centre exit. This squeezed the extra ponoies at top. Its loud at idle, quiet around town and savage at WOT!Ninja

This is why the whine is more of a turbo like whistle rather than a proper supercharger whine. It sounds nice if you go past a wall with the driver's window down...Yes

That's what you call whining.
Stan, what engine mounts are you using?
I've got baker bm mounts but a pug top engine mount, with the paddle clutch I've totally lost any refinement I had left in it LOL
I'm thinking of going back to standard mounts all the way around, the dash has started vibrating, Infact if I don't rev it it sounds like the cars going to shake to bits on setoff, it's ok if I use a few extra revs, but at 1 or 2 in the morning when I go to work sometimes, I can't really rev it and it's a bas**rd setting off especially now it's cold, as she does like to get slightly warmed up first

just trying to work out some times on this, ive heard that low boost will do 0-60 in the high 5s and seeing as your speedo is 100% accurate and as far as i can tell from that video does 60-100 in around 9s is it fair to say then that low boost will give a 0-100 time in the region of 15s?
