I see lynx high boost setups cost about 8.5k bought and fitted.
~If you knew you were gonna reach 450bhp at some point, would you have just punted all the cash upfront and done it cheaper?

Stan I can see that yours must be quite a beast of a car, did you spend Tens of thousands getting there progressively?I see lynx high boost setups cost about 8.5k bought and fitted. ~If you knew you were gonna reach 450bhp at some point, would you have just punted all the cash upfront and done it cheaper? |

In total, I have spent £60,000 on my '6'. I probably would have gone straight for the setup I have now, however it wasn't available when I first started modifying. So I ended up going low boost, then high boost and now super high boost, so yes it has cost a lot of money. But I have spent considerable amounts on other areas of the car, not just the supercharging. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

Ah I remember reading someone mentioning a 60k figure earlier this week, now I realise it was you is the super high boost worth the extra over the high boost or is it more of a man points kinda thing lol |

Yes mate, the whole system is a much better setup, not just the extra power. The DTA ECU is a great asset to have as well, and enables you to get the maximum out of the conversion. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

I have thought about this, but at the moment probably the cheapest way is to buy a 6 already charged. But sometimes it's not always the case. |

It does control it, but I suppose it's a case of different driving styles may have different effects on the car. Lightened flywheel deffo makes a difference mate, I would have thought you'd have kept it on... ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

SC does sound very attractive. What change does it make to the standard induction roar? Must blunt it surely, but is there anything left, or is it all exhaust with an SC? |

The induction roar is obviously dumbed down. However, on the plus side you get a nice exhaust note and a lovely whine of the charger to make up for the lack of inlet noise. ________________________________________ "Supercharged - 454.1bhp/317.5lb/ft"Peugeot 306 GTi-6 2000 (X), Moonstone |

if it didn't run the valve the pressure would go back through the charger and air filter after letting off. The throttle body is at the end Of the manifold on these remember, so when that butterfly closes and the charger is still spinning for a Moment there Will be a pressure build up, the dv releases this. Theres a few charged cars on you tube with blow off and dump valves ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
