Hey guys. Im a bit clueless with cars and never really done much tinkering with mine, however some of the cars on here are fantastic.

I see a few supercharged ones, I understand it costs a good few grand to do such a thing.

What does it do for performance overall. Is it bottom or top end acceleration increases? Book speeds for standard 6s are about 7.2 and 138mph if I remember right. Does this change greatly supercharged?

Any issues getting traction down etc?

Sorry if its been answered a million times, ill probably get shot down in flames here.

You'll be told to SEARCH!

From what I understand, the power delivery is quite linear?

High boost acceleration is a smidge over five seconds to sixty, top speed about 160mph and no problems at all putting power down, you can get it to wheelspin if you try but so can the standard car, power is very linear as said, they are really like the standard car to drive -just much faster Smile

Dave is right here - They drive JUST like a standard car, and if you was pootling round in town in a supercharged, you wouldn't even know...

But when you want some good power, they have a linear power curve all the way up to the redline and pull so much harder than the standard car.

It's similar to how a massive increase in CC (capacity) would feel i'd imagine? Like a 4.0 na 6 engine LOL!

I'll strip my spare engine and see how big we can go Wink Maybe put liners in? We've got thousands of DB4,5,6 liners... I'm sure they'll fit :p

It's simply accelerate hard in a standard car and then double it/treble it depending on what sort of conversion you have...

The feeling is no different as its so smooth, just the speed is the differential.

truth be told… 3 years ago when I got my Rallye done i thought there was something wrong mine felt soo smooth. Had it on rolling road not long after that and everything was perfect.

had a shot of a turbo 306 once, that was a lot more noticeable had a nice wee blast of power at 4/5k revs. Dump valve noise was oddly addictive.

It's the same fuel consumption as standard roughly until you start to use the power, then it really starts to drink fuel. That's why its such a popular conversion. Thumbs up

Makes me kinda want one. My car aint really mint enough to bother with though. I think I would want a minter for a conversion.

How can you have a dump valve if the throttle body is before the turbine. Doesnt dumping to atmosphere after the TB screw up the sensor readings?

The super high boost conversions are set up differently with the throttle after the SC.

Couldnt afford nor have the skill to fit it just now.

Im gonna take it upon myself to learn some things about my car this year. Place Im moving to (military) has a motor club with Ramps, tools and all the facilities needed to take work on myself. Im good with my hands and know how to dismantle and rebuild things in general, but never really took my hand to my car.

Yes, thats right. The throttle body is bolted to the end of the inlet manifold on the Super High Boost setup, thus requiring the dump valve.
