ok so heres the issue, i had a visit from the police today, but wasn't in because i was at work, so they phoned me through my dad. i have to go into the station the weekend about a claimed dangerous driving offence that i'm not even aware happened. apparently i was seen by an off duty cop overtaking in a bad place at night last week. i've heard they may give me points, a fine, disqualification or take the car away?
can they actually do anything though as i wasn't stopped by anyone at the time. i think it was one officer, and he was off duty. i have no idea how he got my plate if it was dark and i was driving that dangerously. and i don't think i've had a NIP?
i dont think i was doing anything wrong, its winter and i'm driving carefully because i don't want to crash and don't want any offences, anything like that could send insurance prices stupidly high, hence why i feel i'm driving reasonably safely and cannot remember said incident.
do they have a case? and do i have a case to argue it if they go ahead?
