Sandy told me if driven the same as a standard 6 it would return as goos, if not better mpg. Who does 55 on the motorway? Hi Miles, Whats the name of this mapper at k-tech? The 174 bhp is at the wheels but either way it stinks of fuel and i need it looking at by someone who can check the boddies correctly and map the omex. |

A bit of an update...Just picked it up from xsport. I wanted to change the gearbox oil as it had some thick royal purple oil in that made gear changes hard when cold. And at the same time i wanted them to check a few other bits on it. They balanced the throttle bodies when i first got the car as the left one was out. It looks like a washer was preventing the spring loaded adjuster screw from securing the settings in place and came loose, unbalancing the rails. They also said the throttle position sensor needs readjusting as it sitting on about 10 on idle which is effectively telling the ecu its still on throttle. This explains the popping and bangs more. What he wasn't sure on is whether adjusting this back correctly can be done independently or needs to be done electronically via the omex. Does anyone know? I will give omex a call... |

What are you guys doing to be averaging sub 40mpg on a standard engine? The standard engine I have in my 309 (whilst it was in the Xsara) averaged 41mpg driving from Swansea to Llandudno and the same on the way back. Both times giving it a little pasting on some of the better B roads. In the 309 it's even better on fuel...________________________________________ Ph1 306 GTi 6 | RX8 231 S1 | YBR 125 Cafe Racer | MT-03 660 |

The position of the TPS means nothing as the map would have been set like this from the start so changing it might make it even worse, the ECU is configured with Idle and full throttle giving numbers so it could even start at 50 for augments sake No idea who works at Xsport now as most of the staff left a while back. I went from the other branch before they moved to B/Stoke a good 5 years ago as I didn't like the work principle's as I was always wrong without going into too much detail, Maybe that's why I have a waiting list of customers now as they know they won't get sold the Earth when its not needed. K Tec I doubt will take on Pug work as they don't know much about them bar one mechanic mate of mine, I won't tell you the hourly rate thou, I'm one of the few they trust to book RR time as they know the car won't have any faults like most do, So if I can help let me know Andy is the man to talk to on the Mapping ________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

The main guy i use at Xsport is mick and from my experiance with any company i have used he is a very good bloke, pays good attention to detail and costs are resonable. Most work i do myself, its normally engine building, mapping and suspension geo i leave to others.I did call omex who said the same about the TPS so its going to need to be checked. Its looking like MEK (Mech) Motorsport in tewkesbury is a good mapper, i have been recomended him buy a few people now. I'll give him a call later today. |

174 at the wheels is about 205bhp at the fly...ish. Have spoken to a few people. Some knew about them, others didn't and they are all in motorsport based jobs in the local area. They mapped a car last year for a customer of mine and it was described as 'ok'. They aren't usually all that effusive about anyone so its a fair bet. Have a feeling that they are in the same trading estate as Omex anyway on Tewkesbury Road. Not sure Powerstation can remap Omex - they tend to do EcuTek, Bosch and Motec iirc. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

The guy seems to do alot of race cars, aminly n/a with bodies and omex. Andy from omex uses this guy and my friend has used him for years, for both his MK1 Golf GTi and S16 race cars.I did talk to him on the phone, wasn't the most convincing call but my friend said that is normally the case but he is a good mapper. It looks like i need to get a lambda boss welded into my longman manifold, this was a requirement of his to do the job correctly. |
