My only issue is that you'll never get the true value of the car when you come to sell it. Even selling on the supercharger kit on it's own won't get you your money back (you never do with mods) Obviously it's totally insignificant if you plan on keeping it for a long time

I actually made money when I sold all my supercharger kit and engine off, and iirc I've only ever lost about £300 on one of the 15+ cars I've had.

Birk, am i right in thinking that a SUPER high boost engine will rip your face off? Sounds Impressive

It's only going to have about 2bar of boost, but will make about 550bhp I reckon, I was just trying to put into context against a high boost charger kit at 20psi

I don't owe out a single penny, never had any loans either Smile

24, 22 when I got it done.

Low boost. No debt on it, it was funded by student loan though.

Birk, you need to do the lottery LOL
There's a few on here here that sold for a lot less than what it cost them. Albeit whole cars rather than breaking it for parts.

Bit late for tonight's draw though aye lol

I really should have bought an Evo 8 after I had sold it all off, but I buy one of them anytime, I can't buy a Dimma so quick Smile long live the turbo Dimma. Ninja

How many of the Low Boost fellas did the conversion on their own?? I'm 24 now and been fancying a LB conversion since i signed up on here, just need to convince the missus now.

But as i live in Luxembourg i'm not seeing myself driving up to Lynx stay there a week for them to make the conversion and drive back to Luxembourg. So i have a place and tools to do it at some mate's garages who also are mechanics.

But..... are there major complications that can occur if installing the kit yourself?? Thanks in advance for any input Thumbs up

23 low boost, I did my own, from the project threads pretty sure Mabz, Buzzbrightyear, Cosmic, Toby, Farmer, Felixthecat and rat boy did their own too. Easy enough to fit, Rich already did the hard work. That said my car doesn't run right so it can't be entirely fool proof but then I am a special case!

Edit to say my problem is related to my new engine I dropped in at the same time not the Lynx kit LOL

Sorry Marco see my edit above, not entirely sure what is causing it but it takes ages to start and refuses point blank to idle when it is cold. However there is also a nasty noise coming from my rebuilt head which I'm not too impressed by! I really don't think it is related to the charger kit as there are at least 30+ on the road without these issues and I must say Rich has been incredibly helpful in trying to get me sorted out. I changed a lot of things at once which doesn't help with fault finding.

Bought my low boost off Ratty when I was 20, the cheaper way to do it is to buy it already done. currently 23 and no plans to go high boost yet as much as I tell myself I want to. Will probably wait till the engine dies.

+1 I'm curious to know what it is supposed to return, have heard some optimistic numbers bandied around. I currently get 20mpg LOL but that is because it doesn't work.

No point giving it circa 250bhp then pootling now is there? Big grin . Sweet, that said standard cars can get into single figures on track can't they? Was only getting 27mpg on a standard '6 engine as a daily.

I get roughly 250-300 a tank, normally closer to the 250 mark, but I only use it for shortish journeys so no motorway driving at all.

I cant see how you can price the lowboost at 4.5 k. wat do you actually get? A stand alone ecu? Forged internals? you cant alter the boost. you cant really do much with it.
