I drove mine with no fluid from Dover to Doncaster before i had chance to sort it out, it also did about 30 miles on a track with no fluid.
Still on same pump and it's still going strong so i wouldnt worry too much if i was you. Smile

You got lucky! It must have had just enough to lubricate the pump. I got 1/2 way from llandudno to swansea with no fluid or lines to the rack (309 conversion with pas removed). The bearings in the pump melted, the friction heat melted the centre shaft of the pump and the tension in the belt pulled it along with the wheel through the softened hot metal and out the bottom, then seized and melts the belt... I knew it would go, but had to make the journey that night.

My high pressure hose popped off the hosetail (custom setup with my own relocation brackets), so i left it off not wanting to put it back on and fill with fluid incase it popped off on the nordschleife. I put the hose back on the barb but didnt put any fluid in whilst over there, only managed 3 laps after that with other running issues. I put some automatic gearbox oil in for the trip home, it worked fine until dover when i put too much lock on in the petrol station and popped the hose back off. I'd been travelling for hours already and burned my arm trying to shove the hose back on so decided to just leave it off for the trip home. LOL
