Ive just brought a jenvey backplate and filter for my throttle bodies to improve air flow, as gauze between the trumpets and the bodies is a big fail!!!!

The new filter and backplate came through today but when i went to offer it up to the car the pas pump will either be in the way or touching the backplate.

What parts etc do i need to remove my aircon and relocate the pas pump?

Or is it easier to go electronic power steering?

Thanks.

Note to self: do these things before its all mapped and running!

You need to strip out the A/C pump, pipework etc, then get a PAS Relocation Kit to move the puump down to the sump.

I can supply them, and have them in stock.

PM if you're interested.

Cheers
Rich

Electric PAS pump off a saxo/106 works well, if you mount it on the inner wing where the screen wash funnel is you can use the standard 306 pipes (although you need to bend the hard pipe a little).

Essentially its a very easy conversion.

Not having the pump being engine driven will reduce the load and release a little more bhp

The EPAS conversion is a viable option (we fit these on the S/C conversion where people wish to retain the A/C).

Although it won't reduce the load on the engine - the reduceed load from removing the mechanical PAS pump is offset by the increased load from the alternator, due to the increased current draw due to installing the EPAS pump.
