45mm. No it doesnt handle as well but its built better far easyer to drive and just as quick with better mpg. Has anyone ever owned any model Mk4 if so what did you think of it?

So iv'e sold the 6 and heres the thing bought a Golf 1.8 Turbo with a remap and 198bhp. Many of you would say iv'e gone backwards but to honest its a big step up looks loads better then a 6 its got 18"s on it and lowered45mm. No it doesnt handle as well but its built better far easyer to drive and just as quick with better mpg. Has anyone ever owned any model Mk4 if so what did you think of it? |

Mk4 golf build quality is still pretty crap, just not as crap as a 306.Anyone can make a car fast in a straight line. Doesn't make it "better" than anything else though. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Any pics?? I am surrounded by Golfs and A3s around here. Has all to do with the good Germans build the best cars in the world attitude. The simple fact of seeing Mk4's 100 times every 20 kms i drive is the reason i am now owning my 3rd GTI6. They are nice cars but they are sooo common. In regards to looks it's not my piece of cake either. However good luck with it |

Had a mk IV... Terrible build quality, dodgy electrics, sluggish engine, fishing boat handling, horrendous understeer, totally forgettable looks, not brilliant on fuel, unoriginal ''eurostyle'' image...Had a very nice blue backlit dials though. Was the best thing about the whole damn car. As said before you will have trouble convincing a lot of people that it is in any way better than a 6. It also doesn't help that since you have joined the forum most of your time has been spent trolling threads and telling people about cars you think are better than the 6. VW golf mk4? Yawn. Stick it up your arse. ________________________________________ 2005 Peugeot 206 GTI 1802008 BMW K1200R |

Your right there!! Pic of my golf anyway. 148k on the clock and payed £1200 for it,its a nice place to sit and an easy drive. Dont get me wrong i loved the 6 but an everyday car it isnt its really really hard to drive it slow because its so fun and with the clutch and steering being so heavy it knackers you on long journeys! Someone must agree? |
