I've got wheels off, a strut off the p/s and I can't see anything untoward. ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

im just wondering if the subframe should bend in slightly where the front bush bolts, this may cause the castor to be out slightly if not as the wheel will be sat slightly further back than its ment to:ive noticed that the p/s p bush was sat like this, but i have just hit a pothole so i dont know if this would have caused it: the p/s hub/ ball joint hole looks fine: and the top mounts look fine, unless theyre the wrong part, are they ment to be totally flat where they mount to the car or have a slightly curve on them like mine do? ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |

I had a bent front subframe, that gave to +ve camber and incorrect castor on one side. I could not confirm it was the subframe until I swapped it. Off the car I could not see that the old subframe was bent, even when I tried to compare measurements to a new one. ________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

The top mounts are meant to be rounded, makes it a ballache to do aftermarket ones that fit perfectly :________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. With roller bearing bushes fitted my subframe looks like yours. ie the mounting bolt does squeeze the subframe in a bit. Don't think this is the source of your problem.________________________________________ L reg "black and blue" phase 1 track 6 |

Just double checked, and mine are slightly curved, but not as far as yours (looks like it wants a washer putting behind it tbh!). Still, if the wishbone was moved forwards, the p-bush wouldn't fit anyway ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. I think the p bush would still fit as it could be move along the bearing race a bit. I fitted the washers that came with them bur it does still seem To bend in slightly. im bamboozled as to what the problem could be if it's not parts fitted to wrong sides or wrong too mounts or needing a washer behind the front bush bolt to bring the wish bone forward 2mm ________________________________________ andrew315rawson@live.co.ukMoonstone phase 7 gti6 My Project thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=119992&page=1 |
