They're in the bin now. Keep meaning to wash the car but i've been surprisingly busy for an unemployed benefit scrounger. Think it's on my to do list for tomorrow, hopefully the tow straps will be arriving too so I can slap them on. Owain the fibreglass never got sanded, just hacksawed any proud bits, but with laying it onto the masking tape it was perfectly smooth on the outer surface, ready for a skim of filler. Wouldn't want to sand fibreglass tbh, so much harmful crap flying about in the air, no ta. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Well that's what I thought, resin dust isn't the best. Just wondered if, as the masking tape obviously isn't solid, any went through too far and needing removing. I'm sure it's no worse than all that 2-pack painting you'll be getting up to ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

I'm sure it's no worse than all that 2-pack painting you'll be inhaling straight from the tin EFA TBH it's polyester resin and chopped strand mat, the resin is easier to work with than the epoxy resin I use for carbon fibre stuff, that stuff's like sanding diamond, takes f*cking ages! Just gave the rough edges of the glass a skim over with some 40 grit alu oxide paper to get rid of the nasty bits so I don't get stabbed opening the bonnet! ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Doesn't matter, you won't have the lung capacity to lift a bonnet after all that painting.________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

It's nice to see the grille smoothed properly Chris. I've seen it done before where someone just filled the entire cutout with filler, it's was stupidly heavy and cracked within a week.Yours is always a great read and one I have enjoyed following so far. You do things I would never think of doing and yet they always turn out looking great ________________________________________ supercharged China gti6 - Thu 16th Sep 1999 - sold2010 megane rs250 |

Really? Most things end up looking shit, it's the camera trickery that works in my favour Bit of an impulse buy, bought a 6000k HID kit off Xav from here, he bought H7's by mistake so I took them off his hands. Cheap chinese crap, but my car never really did deserve the very best. Old lights (believe it or not, +90 "brilliance" H7's): New lights (6000k H7 HID's) Had to angle the lamps down one notch (manual phase 1 adjusters FTL) and need to look into bypassing the dim dip resistor, the 7v feed it gives the H7's on sidelights isn't enough to spark the bulbs so they flicker. No sidelights for now til I figure out how to bypass it. Impressed by the beam pattern though, when fitted as the dipped H7's the pattern is almost identical to the regular bulbs. I heard a rumour they were thinking of introducing HID's to the phase 3's as a factory fitted option and the beam pattern seems to agree with that. That's the story with the 406 Coupe anyway. Also some gratuitous clean shots now i've got batteries for my decent camera. Same story though - back garden, shit weather. Meh. New job starting on Monday though so I can earn some money and drive somewhere more interesting Ooh look, new tow straps. That is all ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Lights look nifty, shame they're being outlawed in a few weeks You just need to touch up the paint on that washer and it'll be spot on. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

Ive seen the pictures mate it was stunning. There is a few dings on it now (all before i owned it may i add!) and ive had it machine polished recently and it does look great bar the pink skirts . Needs a good blowing over with a spray gun! And some bloody arch liners!________________________________________ owain wrote: A GTI-6 with a good dashboard and the seats down can outsprint an E46 M3 in July. |

Yeah the skirts are a problem. Don't try cutting those back...Dents were nearly all car park, except for a couple when it was keyed badly. The wrap at the time saved it. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Ive seen the keying marks? And there is obviously car park dents as you mention. There is one below the rear left light on the corner that bugs the hell out of me! Drives me mad! That, combined with what appears to be scribble marks to the left of the filler cap. Ive stopped trying to cut the skirts back with fear of going through the paint .You will have to see it again sometime! ________________________________________ owain wrote: A GTI-6 with a good dashboard and the seats down can outsprint an E46 M3 in July. |

Nah you haven't really seen the key marks...Anyway its an old car now! The skirts only have one coat of paint. Normal on a rallye. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |
