Don't let it go for less than £4k. Were talking silly money now. Strip it would be your best option or take say the brakes and wheels off with a few other parts and sell it for cheaper with just the charger fitted.

Well i was offered a pretty good nick Rallye and £2800 that I accepted but unfortunately for me the guy decided to go for a different project instead. I would say even with my tinted specs it has to be worth over £4.5k, if someone took there car to rich to get it charged it would cost not far off that, factor in the fact it’s a well looked after car, wheels, brakes, exhaust and all the other little touches here and there

if you brake it, please reserver for me:

breaks £300
GE Quickshift with a shortened gear lever for a lovely short throw £20?
Koni adjustable shock with eibach springs for a 30mm drop £150-£200?

thanks Wink

I would say the brakes are worth more if they have plenty of life left in the pads as dont they cost nearly £900 to make?

It has the R26 brakes doesnt it? From what I am aware of, it uses the bells and rotors that Ash makes Yes

If so, I would think the whole brake setup will go for more than £300 if discs and pads still have life left in them.

Different setup. Uses Rich_W's original set up, Megane brembo's with DS2500's and brackets with 406 v6 coupe discs. Still cost around £500-600 to put on though

If I had the money I'd buy the old girl back, but finances just don't allow it Sad

it is true and to you and everyone on here we know how much you have spent on it , but you know sometimes you have to just say f*ck it i want out!. To be honest they are a good car, pretty economical considering what it is running, all stated figures on new cars for mpg are usually a lie and dont factor in we want to go over 2 miles an hour. so chances are you will be pining for speed again and will want another. talking to your new son about the good ol days when you were running a supercharged gti6 and now we cant afford a decent car cos mummy spent all the car money.
GLWTS but keep it if you can. 2011 A truly crap time to be selling a specialized car.

Well there is loads of interest in parts BUT I have decided to keep it, if someone meets the asking price I will probably sell but for now I will sort out the little bits that annoy me and get it ready for a problem free winter (fingers crossed). Need a new drivers seat, machine polish to remove the scuffs, new driver side arch liner and the exhaust needs adjusting as it vibrates at around 2600-2700 RPM

Sat down at the weekend and realised there is no point selling this and getting another £5K car and running two cars when in 12-18 months time my work is relocating to about 5 minute walk from the Mrs work, we work similar hours so we can do with one top notch car, will probably end up having her dads 11 plate S5 (she works for her dad and currently has his old Golf R32)

Think that's a good choice, you would only regret it once sold.

Makes sense mate, you would regret selling it especially if it was sold at a massive loss Yes

same situation mate, i will not let mine got for less than £5k even then i am thinking, i know i would regret it come next summer. Just dont let anyone try and rob you of it, as regardless what anyone says, its worth over £5k anyday.

a standard charged '6 is worth around the £4k mark, let alone one with decent wheels, brakes, exhaust system etc....

any car is only worth what someone will pay for it. if you have it sat up for sale for £5k for 5 years, it is not "worth" 5k

yeah i saw that you had put yours up for sale, going to keep mine and not even consider breaking or going less than £4500. it's still a good looking car when polished and it sounds and drives awesome. i was only going to throw the money away on an engagement ring and a load of tattoo's any way lol

until it sells the next year for 5k.

i do know what you mean though, justification wise, i would not be worth it for me, to sell it at a price i thought was below its value.

might aswell just strip it out and make a few £££ and keep it as a track car.

But when the novelty wears off you are left with a noisy, more uncomfortable and less desirable 6

Looks like mine is definitely being kept as the price has been at £4500 for over a week and it hasn't got any interest
