Hi all, when i bought my magnex system i expected a decent sound, but seemed to me nothing better than the corsas down maccy d's. It was drony to say the least. Bearing in mind it was straight through from cat to backbox, is this normal? I was expecting a raspy, tinnier noise. Would this be achievable with a decat without being drony? And should i have a Midbox put back in?

Ed

I have a magnex backbox on mine and its quite raspy.
Rob has a scorpion backbox on his and it's much quieter than mine.
Both with decat and centre box, but different centre boxes.

Not really had any issue with the build quality of the magnex on mine, i had a couple of small cracks appear where the hanging bracket was welded to it so i welded the cracks up and job jobbed.
IMO the 3" magnex tip is the nicest looking aftermarket exhaust that i have seen for the 306, not too big or in-your-face.

EDIT: The magnex is a bit too loud for daily driving after a while though, so i stuck the PSA system back on my daily driver and put the magnex on my track car.

Decat made mine a little more raspy.

Otherwise it was a 4" noisy cannon.

My magnex was measured at 97dB at Oulton at a trackday a couple of weeks ago.
It's a bit loud to put up with on a daily driver but for the track car i think it sounds perfect. Smile

The China I bought late last year as a doner car (snapper) had a Magnex system on. When the engine was put in I drove it and I can't honestly say I was that fused about the sound of it, I prefered the standard system on my Diablo. Hmm
