Further to below, the car is now started to be broken, everything apart from speakers, rear shelf, wheels (unless a good price is agreed c.£180), rear shelf and front splitter available.

Examples of what I'm looking for:

Phase 1 seats, good condition drivers seat, really good condition other seats - £120 Collected

Rear beam - £250 with adjustable dampers/£200 without, collected

Front brake calipers in yellow (powder coated)- £60 + Delivery

Black masks - £140 Delivered

Larger items will need picking unless you are local to Heathrow or Southampton, in which case I'll drop them off.

PM me if you need anything and I'm sure we can come to a deal Wink

Well the day has finally come to say bye to french hatchback ownership.

Right from the start, I want to make sure that nobody's time is wasted.

The reason for sale is that the car has a suspected head gasket failure. I have made the decision to sell to someone who is willing to repair the car for themselves to keep or do as they wish, I have not got the time nor the patience to keep her Sad

Here are the details:

Model: GTi 6

Age/Reg: X 2000

Colour: Astor Grey

Mileage: 136,000

Service history: Some history and receipts

Cambelt: March 2011 at 135,000

MOT until: April 2012

Tax until: 30th September 2011

Number of previous owners: Need to check the V5 but I think I'm the 9th. Last 3 owners have been forum members see here

Air con working? N/A - Phase 1 replacement engine

Tyres fitted: PE2's all round. Rear less than 500 miles. Fronts have around 4.5mm even wear.

Modifications: K&N open filter. Re-built ream beam with AVO adjustable dampers. Front lowered 40mm on AVO springs/original pug dampers. Phase 1 seats. Genuine black masks. Rallye blank - yes one, the driver's side one disappeared LOL

Any more information:

As I said, the car has a suspected HG failing. It hasn't gone as yet, however, the symptoms are pointing in this direction. It is firing up without any issues, pulling well in all gears and ticking over smoothly. Deepak (720puggti) has looked over the car and has advised that the HG needs doing.

Previous to this the car has been great, it has had no expense spared and has had many new items fitted in the last few months:

Re-built rear beam with adjustable dampers.
New brake lines - from the engine bay and from rear flexi hose to calipers.
New rear ABS sensors
New disc protectors
New Bitron unit
New brown sensor
New fan relays
Maybe more but at the moment I can't remember.

It has been serviced every 10,000 miles and used Mobil oil every change. Genuine filters used. Cambelt was changed around 135,000 by Deepak (720puggti).

The interior was replaced with phase 1 seats as these look better and feel much more comfortable. Speakers were replaced by previous owners to infinity jobbies all round and the head unit is a Sony item with the adaptor for the original steering control.

The exterior is not 100%. The car had a small patch of lacquer peal on the offside rear quarter. This has not got any worse in the last 2 and a half years I've had her. There is a dent in the front offside wing where a door fell on it. The paint has not cracked/chipped. Rear nearside quarter has a small dent where some numpty has knocked it Dry The boot has a small area of rust just below the wiper arm.

I would have kept the car but after spending shed loads in the last few months and being under it every weekend, the time has arrived for a change to zee German sports coupe route Whistle

I am going to put it up for £1,200 £1,000 ono and I appreciate that this may seem a tad high, however, if any new owners change the head gasket they will have a lovely car. I am also open to sensible offers so give your best, the worst that I'll say is no thanks Happy

Pics will be up shortly as a guide and then she will be cleaned over the weekend for better ones.
