Hi guys, new to the forum, have posted in general to say hi Wave anyway thought id kickstart things off by showing you my cti, brought the car around 7 mths ago, drove 5 hours with my dad to pick it up from the south coast, but with only 3 owners 6mths tax and 12mths mot, at £350 it was worth a drive. I was sipprised at how tidy it was for the money, an old gent owned it, it had a new hood and a shed load of history, which i love sorting thro Big grin geek. Interior was very ripped but i picked up a full set of goodwood leather in very good nick for £100. Sorted. I picked up the old school tsw rims cheap, £40 for the set with tyres which look better than the 1.6 rims, Ive still kept these tho for the future. When changeing the wheels i noticed the track rod ends were a bit rusty so i replaced these, the wheel bearings and bottom arms all in one go, oh and stuck some lowering springs on while i was at it. After painting all the shocks etc up it looked good as new under there and felt much better on the road. Then tho i had the problem of the arse end being stuck in the air but just so happened a lad not too far away had a rebuilt 1.9 beam which i got a bargin price of £40 so on it went and it was already dropped. With loveing the 205 so much in such a short time all it was lacking was power so after doing some reading up and watching some youtube vids it was time for a gti6 lump, and lucky for me i found one pulled from a 205 so the loom etc was all done for me, which was a good plus point. Anyway here is some pics of what im upto.

my choice of weapon

The new donkey ( not looking so new )

rocker covers off, strip down and primer

a bit of vht crinkle paint and so handy work with a little brush and i got this.

next for an un known reason other than it looking ugly and it also shaved some weight i attacked a large engine mount, there was a big part on it that im guessing you would use in the 306 but i wont be, so out came the plasma cutter and time to tidy it up

attacked

little bit of nitromourse

primer

and some smoke grey paint i had kicking around

much better i think.
off came the inlet manifold, fitted a new gasket and gave it a lick of paint, also a bit of paint on the head , a clean up of the covers and it looked like this

Today i cut the exhaust manifold ready to reangle it once the engine is in place.

So a week on and its looking much better. Tommrow i will put the rocker covers back on and the engine mount, just waiting on a few parts to come and i plan to start the fitting on thursday so lots more pics to come.

Matt, yeh i like the orange with the yellow aswell, my dad brought me the fogs for my birthday as the originls were in bits. I think the orange keeps it all looking retro. One the engine is in will start tidying the car up then, get wheels refurbed etc

    Looking good RichWink

Just remembered you will need one of these:

    http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=10mm+fuel+banjo&_sacat=0&_odkw=10mm+barb&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

But can't remember the size you need ATMWhistle

Needs to be a 10mm take off for the 10mm fuel pipe to fuel rail from fuel filter.Smile

Get a new fuel filter while the engine is outWink

right guys time for some more pics, this has all happend a bit fast, got board of waiting so pulled my finger out. All in all i found this a very easy conversion and now its in the car feels great and i can start doing small bits and bobs, anyway here is some pics.

started to pull here apart on a wed eve, a day eairlyer than i had planned.

2 hours later and we had this

next day in the light time for a bit of a clean

after the clean it was time to get the new engine on its mounts while there was two of us ready for me to do battle on the friday on my own

with the engine in place on the thurs eve i went home and got up eairly on the fri ready to do battle. I had a few bits to collect fri morn for the engine, i didnt know untill thurs night that i was going to have to fit a crank sensor, lucky i got one of these from my local motor factor fri morn, along with a throttle cable and new exhaust gasket.

After it was all in and it was running i had to make my new downpipe. I had brought this bit of stainless off ebay

After some measureing and cutting i had this

and after fireing up the tig welder i had made my downpipe complete with nut for lamda sensor

I got caried away then sorry and didnt take as many pics untill it was done and dusted, then i took a few

a little bit of a tea break and some time to play ball with my buddy LOL

And today i made these as a bit of a trial, im still not sure on them but i like the way they work, especially with the manifold at the bulk head and with it being as hot as it is. Some spacers for my bonnet.

And this is them fitted. As i said i like the idea but i think maybe its raised a little too much so i may lower it a little

Ive just ordered some flush fit aero catches to pull the front down nice and tight and i think tommrow i will mod my brackets a bit to make the back sit slightly lower. Weekends jobs are to fit braided fuel hose, get a loom to relocate batter to the boot, make an induction pipe to move my filter down lower, make an ali box to sit where my battery is to house my ecu, and strip a little bit of weight off the car. will post some more pics up over the weekend Wink oh and a big thanks to kevcos for all his help and advice.

hi guys, another update, not got much done this weekend due to crap weather but here is waht i did do.
My filter was sitting right under my top hose, prety much squashing it so i got to work with some ali pipe and my tig welder and created this hardpipe to relocate it, much better now Wink

with that fitted i took a trip to the scrappy to find a few parts. My leccy windows work when they want and not very often so i decided to rip them out, save some weight and the hassel.

    out with the old

    in with the new

much better, can put my windows down now when i want not what the car wants LOL

Then i thought id spice things up a bit and took my jigsaw to my bonnet, needless to say i had a few strange looks from passers by woundering why i was cutting my car up Big grin

still got to finish the aerocatches as rain today has stopped play, only one mod done today and that was this.

new ones brought for a bargin price of £5 from car boot sale thismorn.

And thats it for today. Hopefuly tommrow i will be ready to start makeing myself a nice posh ali headertank, ive also got a nice new fusebox to fit to tidy up under the bonnet. More pics to follow Smile
