Heard of these products?

If you were gonna scrap your 6, would you try them anyways to see if they work?

Anyone used and liked?

I'd just fix it tbh. They'll only bite you in the arse later on.

Rather than making another thread, has anyone had experience with Steel Seal?

As the 306 chucked a rod my 205 felt left out and ate the head gasket, now, I need a car and sorting the 205 is easier than the 306.

So, do I risk doing the head gasket on the 205, risking snapped exhaust studs etc which would severely hamper my chance of having a car for daily use... or do I just stick some Steel Seal in and hope it lasts over winter/306 engine swap so I can do the gasket properly

Perhaps K-seal is better for that type of fault?

This Steel Seal sounds quite good if it works, like I say, doesn't have to last "too" long, just a couple of weeks!

The problem with these sealing products is that once they are in the system you can never get them out.

Therefore, it'll still be present even after you get around to doing the HG. It really depends on whether you mind that or not.

What's left over? Does anyone know?

I'm buying it tomorrow as I don't have the time to do the head gasket as well as sorting the Rallye engine and need a "reliable" car for the next few weeks

whats the worst that can happen, you rebuild an already f*cked engine. give it a go. if it works it works. if it doesn't its only cost you £10 and you still have to rebuild it.

Not just the engine that gets coated and bunged up, there's all the hoses, radiator and matrix eg.
Put a new engine in and the s**t will still be stuck in the other places

Yep, and that's why I would never even consider it even for the shortest length of time.

That's great, but you'll never be able to have a "clean" system again though. No
