aiming for 300 torques and 300 hp max really should be hitting 280 hp at a bar

It was recommended to me as a better item than the Valeo alternative and I've had no problems...Smile

Couldnt we use the cover plate off our old clutch?? Pretty sure my standard clutch i put in 2 years ago is Sach or something
or is that being rough?

I think the only place you'll find a pressure plate on its own is a pug or citroen dealer, for about £130.

depends which part of the kit is the weakest link, the friction material (unlikely) the springs in the centre of the friction plate (possible) or the pressure plate (most likely)

I bought a complete Sachs kit when I did mine along with a Helix paddle clutch plate.

I fitted the Sachs cover plate and Helix clutch plate, then sold the Sachs clutch plate separately. Smile

I have a valeo pressure plate and helix paddle friction plate, i hate it at first but am now used to it and like it but Its still not enough, I've had it slipping in 4th and 5th and it was smoking when I stopped so I am upgrading it soon, I can't see the standard item taking the force at all.

You must be abusing the hell out of it for that to happen surely? I've given mine a real decent pasting and it's fine...Yes

No I havnt abused this car whatsoever, it owes me
A fortune, i plan on keeping it forever and I treat it with care.
it was just the one standing start setting off from a
Junction turning right, it wheel span a
Bit in 1st and 2nd and then slipped in 3rd 4th and 5th.
I realised it was slipping after hitting 5th and it was still doing it.
When I pulled up there was stinky smoke coming from under the
Bonnet and the p/s wheel arch

Mainly price, after having all the work done at once I couldn't afford any more, I'd already blown the budget by far so I got the friction plate only and any further improvements will be done in due
Course.

I think it slipped due to the pressure plate been standard not due to the friction plate

You need an uprated pressure plate for sure, on my HELIX one the little finger springs that apply the clamping pressure are nearly twice as thick as the ones on a standard pressure plate. If you want more grip from the clutch plate you can go for a paddle clutch but they are basically on/off items and will burn out or glaze up with minimal slip so not really ideal for the road, a six paddle clutch is'nt a bad compromise. Get used to a hard left leg workout though if you get into a town or traffic jam.
