At current, my 6 gets between 34-36mpg with mixed driving on my daily commute to work and back. I'm not too displeased with this, but I think it could be better.

Having said this, I don't really want to drive slower! Roll eyes

So, what have people's experience been of fuel consumption after a re-map with basic mods (exhaust, induction, possibly cams).

I only ask becuase the mpg on my modded 200SX went up considerably after a re-map and put me up in to the 34 mpg region with mixed driving - before looking at a re-map for the 6 though, I want to know if it'll be worth it - i.e give decent gains on power and or mpg's!

Any feedback appreciated.

Weird, I only ever saw 30mpg at most. You must be driving like a fairy . . . Angel (Didn't have any pictures of an angel)

dont waste your money on a remap just drive slower, remap will do nothing but use more fuel

I think the general opinion on here is that a remap is pointless unless you do fit at least cams.

I dont know if you are aware that the Marelli Ecu that the 6 runs on is very hard to map and only a few people in the country are actually able to do it hence it being quite expensive (~£400) for very little gain on a standard engine.

I agree with the above comments regarding consumption, you are already getting very good Mpg so I wouldnt think you will see any result on that front from a remap either.

Throttle position sensor? Plugs new? Sure the lambda is good? Could also be fuel pressure regulator but not very likely.

Anyway a remap is unlikely to gain you anything. On a turbo car a remap will generally give you better economy by giving you a broader range of torque. You accelerate faster for fewer revs. Also many remapping firms will play it closer to the bone in terms of AFR making it run leaner than the standard maps. Often still within safety limits, but a lot closer. This is something Rica often do on volvo turbo petrol maps.
