Is rebuilding the rear beam really worth it? Reason I ask is because a rebuild kit on Ebay is £90, a second hand beam from the scrappy is what, £50? |

It doesn't make sense to try and save money with something as important as suspension. It's not like buying depo headlights instead of valeos. You buy cheap, you buy twice ________________________________________ Standard Black 6Black HBSC6 |

£90 sounds reasonable to me. If you go to Peugeot for a kit you better take some lube________________________________________ Standard Black 6Black HBSC6 |

Iv just managed to get a FULL rebuild kit from peugeot, every nut, bolt and washer, two new trailing arm shafts all the bearings and seals for a bargain price of £266 Inc vat, good old discount! My beam will be mint, everything is powder coated! The full rebuild kit (nuts, bolts, washers) excluding shafts should have came to £163 Inc vat and the trailing a shafts (205 ones) should have been £77.64 exc vat Well worth the money |

A £40 kit from Pug doesn't include the bearings if I remember correctly, I got all the nuts, bolts, bearings and caps for about £90, without mounts as I went for solid ones. And yes, It's most definitely worth it if you're changing the mounts as well, but whole lot would be £250ish I'd imagine. Do it properly or don't bother ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |

It's worth noting on the pins the dia of the inside as not all will take a 30mm rear ARB, not a issue for some but if replacing you may as well in my book have the scope to upgrade in the furture.________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

matt evans wrote: welshpug! wrote: rebuild bits from Peugeot are £35-40. Exactly - why pay eGay prices when you can get cheaper over the counter..... Usually in stock as well £30-40 pounds? Are you sure on that? Because they charge about £10 for a couple of nuts and bolts, so I can hardly imagine a rear beam rebuild kit being that reasonable. Edit: According to pugheaven it costs a lot more than £40 pounds pugheaven wrote: Iv just managed to get a FULL rebuild kit from peugeot, every nut, bolt and washer, two new trailing arm shafts all the bearings and seals for a bargain price of £266 Inc vat, good old discount! depends entirely what you need, but the bearings and seals are less than £40.arm shafts IF you need them are around £100 a pair on ebay, or £77 each from a dealer. as for the rest of the nuts and bolts there's no need to replace them unless a tard/monkey has been at the beam, or you're a Tart they'll all be rusty in a few weeks anyway. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

They won't be rusty welshcit, anti roll bar end plates came to £56 exc vat with my discount!New nuts and bolts are being used as the restnof the car is covered in powdercoated bits and all nice new nuts, bolts and washers! Not because I'm a monkey and rounded them thanks! I suppose rust makes it weigh less once it's fallen off :-) Sometimes I do wonder what Citroën owners think when they post stupid comments! |
