yeah, the forces act on the front edge of the pad carrier (top) so if you put the L-shaped bar in the wrong place it can wear and fall out, then spit the pads out.obviously if I've told you its the wrong way, they go the other way : easy job given its all shiny and greased up I think many get it wrong on the 205 as the only picture of a bendix caliper in the Haynes manual shows a front bendix caliper, which obviously does have the retaining bar at the top as its on the front of the hub. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Arse Must have the pad carriers on the wrong side! Never mind, just unbolt them and stick them on opposite sides complete with pads ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

its possible, though you can fit them in wrong even with the pad carriers on the correct side, the top edge where the spring clips sit is deeper than the bottom edge where the L shaped bar goes.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

I'm currently restoring a 106 rallye, your car looks ace! I have under sealed one arch, but after seeing your car, I'm tempted to strip it back and just use black non drip gloss, has it held up well over the past few years?Alan ________________________________________ Rich E wrote: With the 306 Rallye the goal wasn't to make a purer or more focussed car. Yeah really well But the important part is the rust removal/treatment and the paint you use on those areas before applying the gloss imo ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

Cheers tvrfan007 wrote: Unbelievable attention to detail. If you don't mind me asking what sort of expeniture have you done on paints, protection, powdercoating etc. Haven't kept track soz! Powdercoating came to just over £200 for the lot, including calipers. Rust bullet about £60, few tins of gloss £30, discs/rust removal tools circa £20. Then circa £200 on bolts/clips/brake pipes etc. It's the hours of work you can't put a price on dannygti-6 wrote: How you getting on getting it through mots with no abs been told buy tester today that next year I am gonna struggle as they have to have standard equipment fitted It's fine to remove abs,and is not a mot fail aslong as you remove all the parts of the system apart from the abs rings on the cv joints Type in 'mot testers manual' into Google ________________________________________ Red GTB1756 powered Fabia VRS daily driver,LBSC Gti6 eater........Mac1 ZR R1 kit car build in progress. |

dannygti-6 wrote: Changes the end of this year I believe when more new laws come in saying original equipment has to be still fitted It is ambiguous at best. It was covered in technical note 1-2013 issued by Vosa originally, and absorbed into the introduction section of the updated MOT testers guide as Kev infers. Section 5 of the into, as modified vehicles: " Modified Vehicles Where a vehicle has been extensively modified or converted, certain Reasons for Rejection, such as for components ‘missing where fitted as standard’ should not be applied, for example: · a car converted for rally use (i.e. rear seats removed and fitted with a roll cage and full harness seat belts etc.) may have been converted so as not to require a brake servo, power steering or airbags · a car converted to a stretch limousine may no longer be fitted with curtain airbags or functional Electronic Stability Control." Mine just passed its MOT test without the airbags fitted, as it fulfils the criteria outlined by Vosa, since it is track prepared. ________________________________________ I'm Si btwNight Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |
