Kawasaki Lime Green in candy should be available at some point too, won't be until the 3rd or 4th lot I'd guess, but might have a few done in that too, choices, choices LOL

I'll send a PM around later and sort out who's having what + payment, as a few of the earlier people on the list have had bare ones or they're waiting for a blue one instead.

I'll take anything I can get, looking at spending a week on the car at some point in the next two or three weeks, so the sooner the better.

Not fussed about colour tbh.

There's nothing wrong with my lovely christmas table sheet thing. I'll have you know that cost me a whole pound!

I'll send it via the milkman, he seems to know where you live.

Phil, how much ground clearance is lost at the center with these then?

I've just moved into a new flat and access involves mounting a kerb and driving half on the road for about 15m and then there's some horrifically cambered road to deal with...

Probably about ~30mm from the bottom of the sump where they mount, although they're not actually mounted at quite the lowest point any more. If you go on just over an inch you wouldn't be far wrong anyway.

If you're worried about it, then I'll be making some for the rally lads at some point out of thicker tubing that'll take a bit more of a beating + have mounting points for a sump guard.

ok thanks, I'll try and conduct some tests involving tape and something ~30mm high.

I'm not too worried about the brace taking a beating, more what strains it would put on the mounting points, is there not a chance it could knock them out of shape?

IIRC they connect to the subframe where the wishbones do, in which case it's as solid as anywhere you'll find on the car.

I reckon you'd have to be doing some reasonable speed before you damaged the subframe over, say, the brace or the sump.

That's the reason I made the normal ones out of thin-wall steel, if you hit anything serious it should just collapse the tube and then bend the brace out of the way.

As owain says though, if you hit something hard enough to make it bend the subframe, you'll probably smash the sump anyway.
