When I turn in my rallye I sometimes get a creaking sound coming from the suspension and other times when it is bumpy it seems to make a knocking sound as the suspension compresses!Anyone know what could be causing this? |

i had same problem in the front drivers side when i changed the top mounts, droplinks, springs and struts. Think it was slightly loose top mount screws (the 3 you can see from the engine bay) so tightened them and not had it since but only driven it once though it was a spirited run in the b-road twisties! Easy to change if you have half a clue about what you're doing... ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |

Usually a tired/seized topmount bearing, it's usually the spring turning in it's cup, hence the creaky twangy sound, had this on most my pugs living down a farm drive________________________________________ '97 PH1 'Sigma Blue' 306 GTI 6 project 'Tooters'194.2bhp 127.6 dB '96 PH1 'Black Noir' 306 DTurbo (project in permenant storage) '94 300tdi LR Discovery (project gone dead and buried) '99 td5 LR Discovery 2 (trailer tug and family bus) project 'in the garage getting chassis welded' (again) The 6 can go fast, the disco can go anywhere Built: 9 January 1997 - that's a Thursday Skip Brown cars: tarporley Cheshire Tel: 01829 720492 add me --> philbrindley85@hotmail.com TEAM: Snapper |

Mine does the same but also does it from the rear end sometimes? Rear beam seized? ________________________________________ allesclar wrote: wrote: the only kind of similarities of the xsi and a 6' is if you jumble the letters round to spell six |
