the bottom end does straight fit and lowers the compression as they are dished pistons, but i dont know to what extent, or how much boost could be coped with. 10psi easy id imagine. ________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

shame they not pocketed as well, as could be a easy fit and then fit nice cams on a gti6 NA ________________________________________ Do you need a 205 > 306 gti6 plug and go engine loom? also ive been told the s16 pistons and rods sit around 1mm further down the bore (not sure on accuracy of this but they do sit 1mm down the bore and not flush) so might be good for lowering compression a tad.________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

could you not use the hdi box as it Should cope with more torque and thats what kills the box. Dont think tom has ever blown his gear box up to be fair! Know of a few high power turbo cars and they dont seem to have problems with the gear box. |

hdi boxes arnt much better if any, infact the best ones are surposed to be the old be1 from 205 309 gtis as they have helical gears instead of straight cut ones. If you drive it careflly and done floor it everywhere it might be ok, but if you want the full potential from it (especially if your aiming for 350-400bhp) then you should go for the ml5t________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

I don't think that the gearboxes off any pug 4 cylinder (be it diesel or petrol) can cope with any more than 300lbft really, I think you may have to source some stronger cogs or a straight cut sequential box |

The boost controller was stolen so not using that one, we have mapped the car for each rpm in each gear so very progressive. Not too much torque steer but can catch you out if not holding tight. Gearbox wise mine is standard i think cant remember to be honest, just have to make sure in gear before putting on the power. Have not taken it on track for long so really need to do some testing when i get it back to make sure it all works. Manifold, does have a very good flow rate and one reason we can make so much ft/lbs with the turbo custom done aswell it all works well together. ________________________________________ TEAM Supercharged Rallye |

I'll look them up, and you had it mapped and limited the torque in certain gears? what boost control do you use now then? |

av only ever done in one gearbox so far with a genuine 380bhp and mostly track use so getting a hard time , as for a cheap turbo conversion to do it correctly i dont believe anyone can say there is a cheap way and for under 1k a highly doubt it certainly not to see over the 300 mark. ________________________________________ SOS Motorsportwww.sosmotorsport.co.uk 450bhp 205 16v Turbo www.facebook.com/pages/SOS-Motorsport/159917677353556 |

Stated earlier, spiky said the injectors will be maxed out around 360bhp, i will be running almost full cycle so around 350bhp, also hoping for around 350 ft/lbs, last yr was running more, around 400 bhp, no graph to prove but was quite swift. This time want to prove the power and use the car. ________________________________________ TEAM Supercharged Rallye |
