No pics of build, i have a few will post them in this thread:How she was when i bought her: Kaaz diff: Steering wheel: Boost controller which was stolen before fitting, cost £400 and did everything you needed. Bought these alloys of bigbadbowen, quite kurbed but gti6 boy refurbed them and got them painted: Fitted toyo t1 r tyres, amazing performance Kad 6 pot brakes: Will post more photos later on. ________________________________________ TEAM Supercharged Rallye |

@binkagti,Nice car dude Was thinking about forced induction if/when I get a 6, do you get much trouble with torque steer? and what benefits does your hybrid manifold offer over a standard one? or a modded gti6 one?, and 400lbft sounds a lot for the standard gearbox, I know rich w has trouble containing less than that how does yours cope? and does that boost controller help with a smooth power delivery?, and what management do you use? sorry for all the questions, just looking for inspiration Brett |

sorry to sound like a c*nt, but that car on page 2 was never done on a 1k budget. mine has cost me in teh region of £4k so far and is only just at the stage of being mapped. the manifold looks like a dp one which are £1k alone, then youve got downpipe, turbo, all ur custom bits like pistons (even standard j2 ones cost some money) and service parts, boost piping etc. Plus im guessing seeing that no mention was made, it is using the standard box, which is no doubt going to explode as soon as more than 300bhp is put through so ideally an ml5t gearbox should be used as i have. ________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

When the cars was white the car was built on 1k budget. And produced 320hp. But you seem to know more than me? When it became green it got that homemade inlet made by the builders friend and didnt cost 1k haha, material cost and coffe And a real engine mangement. so im guessing 1.5k 2k at the most to be 400hp+. The thing is, almost everything on this car is homemade... What's your spec? DP all the way? 4k it's alot of money... The s16 engine will produce 300hp+ with only a decompression by plate or pistons and with a real engine mangement. Im aiming at 2k on my new engine 300hp+ That includes buying another s16 engine. ________________________________________ Peugeot 306 Dimma CoupƩ. |

Peder is right, if you can do almost all of the work yourself or get favours from friends then a project can be very cheap, its amazing how much time and skills can cost ________________________________________ Just Drive It |

Injectors, intercooler, pipework, map sensor, boost value, management comes to about a grand. Pistons, rods, turbo, manifold and down pipe comes to quite a bit and you still got all the little bits that soon add up. |

i was agreeing with you matey i wont be buying new though, there are already many many parts in circulation that can be used used injectors, are cheaper, and on a ford car forum i'm on is a guy that cleans and checks them, cheap, so saves a few quid ecu's can be had cheaper, that not all singing and dancing, but thats not really needed s/h t3's and t34' are fairly cheap too you can save 150 on a t34 by getting .48 housing instead of a .63, fast spool up, just lest top end power, and as i want fast response this is ideal or get the rare .55 that was used in rallying money can be save in several locations i'm hoping i can do it for around 2k and fingers crossed that t34 and low comp so i can run 340'ish ________________________________________ Do you need a 205 > 306 gti6 plug and go engine loom? all my work is custom fabricated by me or a friend on the cheap. Still cost in the region of £200 for the manifold material and welding, £200 for a budget turbo, then you got management which your looking at £300 even for something like megasquirt, then you got boost piping, intercooler, probs another £100 or so, then you got little things such as the decomp plate, service parts. You could probably just about do the engine side of things for £1k if you made it all yourself, but then you have got clutch, gearbox, a cheap china special turbo which will melt, not to mention all of the parts needed to fit the stronger gearbox such as flywheel, gear selector hyraulic lines for clutch etc. I bet he gets through gearboxes in that every month of so... price breakdown on my project... 306 GTi6 Head, Turbo Bottom End + ancillaries £400 Engine rebuild components £300 S16 pistons and rods £70 Decompression Plate and sealant £160 Turbo Charger £200 (jaky chung lol) Turbo manifold steel piping £100 Up rated fuel supply £220 Intercooler £40 Boost piping £130 Oil cooler and fitting kit £90 wastegate, blow off valves etc £130 Fabrication work i.e. welding £125 Exhaust steel pipe and system parts £200 Turbo oil lines £100 Solid Engine mounts £80 Old loom and wire to make new loom £35 Electrical Components (alternator, switches, battery, high current wire etc) £150 Gearbox, clutch, flywheel, selector £400 Driveshafts + driveshaft fabrication work £120 Pedal box with hydraulic clutch and master £270 cylinders + reservoirs Up rated spark plugs and leads. Coil Pack £60 Thermostat adapter plate £25 Slim line Fan (52mm)£70 Brake line and fittings £45 Total £3700 (ish) baring in mind some of those things wont be needed as mine was put into a 309 (hence the adapter plates for thermostat) but to do it properly and have it reliable the gearbox is a must in my opinion once you pass 300bhp. This means you need all the custom shafts and what not making up and as you can see i fitted an entire pedal box to support the hydraulic clutch. you could ofcourse just use a single pedal for this to save £100 or so. ________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

when you say turbo bottom end, you mean a 8v turbo bottom head bolted onto gti6 head? what CR does that give? ________________________________________ Do you need a 205 > 306 gti6 plug and go engine loom? yeah 8v turbo bottom end from xu10j2te. compression is disregarded as i change the pistons for s16 ones and then add a decomp plate. final compression is 8.21:1 ________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

ah ok,decomp plate is not something i want to use, i was hoping it was a straight fit of the 8v turbo bottom end. thanks for the info though ________________________________________ Do you need a 205 > 306 gti6 plug and go engine loom?
