Do a search, yes they are highly rated among the fast road/track crowds on here.Don't buy from Larkspeed though! Rip off merchants. Speak to Tony Beckett at Demon Tweeks. Mention you're a club member and he'll sort you out. ________________________________________ Trackday, trackday, trackday |

DS Performance is an entry level 'performance' pad that isn't much better than a standard road pad at all.The DS2500 is a very good all-rounder; good performance and fade resistance and won't try and kill you from cold! The only slight downside to DS2500 is that it needs a grooved disc to give good initial bite, which in turn increases disc and pad wear. The initial bite is a little vague on a plain disc, but that characteristic is quite common amongst performance pads. ________________________________________ Rich |

I mis-read, sorry, I thought you were asking about DS2500s.Agree with Rich - sticking the word "Performance" on something is also a guarantee that they won't be good for performance. ________________________________________ Trackday, trackday, trackday |

I'm not sure I entirely agree with you there Rich (for the first time ever!). I've never found them to be lacking initial bite on standard discs on all the cars i've used them on.________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

from me, DS2500s I found to be a great pad on road and track- never found it an issue from cold....________________________________________ "Rules are for the interpretation of wisemen and the obedience of fools" (Colin Chapman, Lotus founder) |

Have you run them on a grooved disc Adam? I've run them on both grooved and plain discs and the initial bite is a lot better on grooved discs I'm not saying they don't bite, it's just they feel a little vague on light pedal applications. (Not applicable if you stamp on the pedal - there's plenty of feel then! ) It's a modulation thing I guess. You get used to how they act and alter your braking style to suit (probably without even noticing). si_man306 wrote: never found it an issue from cold.... Yeah, they're fine from cold ________________________________________ Rich |

I'm with Adam! Stop braking like a pansy Rich. PS, were you running grooved discs when you failed to avoid Fantastic Mr Fox?! ________________________________________ Trackday, trackday, trackday |

DS Performance are a pad carried into the Ferodo branding from the federal mogul parent company - i.e. - it's shite. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. I know where Rich is coming from, I use DS2500's and they can feel to not bite much initially using lightish pedal force, but if you have to slam on from speed they bite like fook, I am used to them now but interesting comment on the grooved discs as I have not tried them. ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |

Wots a light pedal application boss?Nah never had grooved discs before the ones I currently have and they are disappearing at a vast rate of knots. One bonus is that the RC6 pads look like they'll outlast another 5 sets of discs. They are awesome though. Really awesome. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Stonking pads aren't they? I had 'em on the bike once, and they absolutely monstered a set of EBC discs that were on there, worth it though. ________________________________________ - Bespoke rollcages/additions/adjustments. I'd moved to DS1.11's and found them very good indeed. The stopping power was just unreal once they were warm Dust issues comparable to the CL's too ________________________________________ Rich |

So nice to have the world's loudest fecking brakes and have a nice metallic grinding noise instead. Sure the steering wheel is getting bent as I protect my head from the windscreen. ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |
